If you ever wondered who was responsible for spearheading many of the noise complaints around the country, well there's a winner in Sydney, right here:

Angry Kellyville resident Henry Romanowski is the city's expert at airing grievances | News.com.au

Angry Kellyville resident Henry Romanowski is the city's expert at airing grievances

He lives 31km away from Sydney Airport - in Kellyville - yet former railway worker Henry Romanowski has complained about airport noise 19,600 times in 12 months.

That's an average of one complaint every 20 minutes the airport is open.

The 64-year-old is responsible for almost two-thirds of all aircraft noise complaints made to Airservices Australia in Sydney over the past year.

His nearest rival is one person who lives a few kilometres from the airport at Eastlakes and who has lodged at least 4312 complaints.

Mr Romanowski, whose house is also several kilometres west of the main flight path, said he was not surprised he was the biggest complainant, saying it was a protest over the "up to 1000" aircraft flying above his home every month.

Note that this story is not necessarily about Sydney's curfew, it is merely about the air traffic to and from Sydney, and flight paths (there may be a little connection to the curfew, but not explicit).

Yes, I know there is the "if you don't like it there, move out - simple" argument. However................

He is an absolute moron that is wasting people's time.

Agreed. A moron. And a moron who doesn't even live that close to the airport.

Simple solution, move you clown! Pretty sure if he wants peace & quite he should look at somewhere like The Kimberley!!!

The saying "Get a life."" springs to mind.....

I pity the poor receptionist or call centre operator who takes his calls. You can bet this will make OS news services. The Daily Mail for sure.

Don't you worry, there a similar people over this side of the country.

You would think that ASA would block the IP address of these serial pests, perhaps that would give a better indication of who are actually making actual complaints, and who are just making them because it breaks the boredom of twiddling their thumbs all day...

I think you are able to make complaints on webtrak.

I'm sure this has been reported before, but can't find his name in a search ;)

Maybe I read his name somewhere else? Or he's taken the previous record holder down.

You would think ASA would eventually refuse all duplicate complaints.

I know ACA or TT (or other program) described a similar 'winner' in Brisbane some time ago. Also an old man, rather closer to the airport than our Sydney friend, and keeps a detailed timestamp log of every time aircraft noise disturbance is noted.

Been a while since that story was aired, and I don't believe he made the paper.

I think we should all find out his address and every frequent flyer should post him a letter of complaint about his complaints every week.

I'm sure if he got a couple of thousand letters a week he would get the picture.

:) :) :)

I make a point of looking up to work out which airline is flying over my house whenever I hear them, just so happens I'm under the flight path for SYD and NTL flights to BNE.

Without being too disparaging towards Henry - the sad fact is some people retire to early or without any idea with what to do with themselves.

If he did that he would most probably complain about all the noisy 4-wheel drives........

I used to know a clown who moved next door to an ashphalt manufacturing plant, then wrote letter after letter of complaint to the company, council and papers about the noise and smell. The company eventually paid him a motza in compensation to shut him up. A month or two later he sold and moved elsewhere....

Not a chance of me retiring for years. I'm 61, and not only has my super not recovered from the GFC, but my 7 kids have prevented any serious saving. Still if I was to retire, the last thing I'd do is make an absolute nuisance of myself like Henry.

You would be surprised what you might do when you retire. ;)

Idle hands do the devils work....

The person who takes the complaint would just say yes what is your problem this 20 minutes.

Instead of it being done on the internet make him have to ring up and cost him self 25c for each call. 19600 complaints x 25c is app $4900 per year just to make complaint about noise.

I wonder if he has ever been on a plane? If so how often? Does he complain just about airport noise or is he a serial complainer...
