I am flying HNL-AKL-BNE on Saturday.
Can I buy my Jack Daniels in HNL and pack in my luggage or will Customs not approve?
JD is $10 a bottle cheaper in ABC than AKL dutyfree prices?
Customs won't know unless the bottle breaks open....
Which reminds me of a story (sorry a little OT) About 7 years ago I had a bottle of port in my cabin baggage (a gift for my father) As I was only going for the weekend. (OOL) I didn't have a lot of stuff in my bag and when I was dropped off out the front at Sydney T2 I accidentally tipped by bag over. It didn't fall far and I din't think twice about it. I pick it up by the handle and proceeded to check-in When lining up I had a tap on the shoulder and the chap behind me pointed out a brown liquid coming out of my bag. When I looked back there was a trail from the front kerb all the way across the terminal to the check-in desk. It was funny and embarrassing at the same time..... what a mess.![]()
As long as it isn't a huge bottle ie bigger that 2.25L (do they make them that big?) or you are getting other liquor you will be OK

Title of this thread is 'Duty free into Australia' so I hope I can ask a question irrelevant to OP?
SIN duty free store staff tell me Australia is only country which requires duty free alcohol to be collected on boarding flight and cannot be carried away by purchasing pax from Duty Free store?
I have seen it on AA ex MIA for LATAM flights.Title of this thread is 'Duty free into Australia' so I hope I can ask a question irrelevant to OP?

Also at Nadi.I have seen it on AA ex MIA for LATAM flights.
The same happens at DFW for QF8.
The Australian government needs to butt out and stop doing it's best to protect the duty free monopoly in Australia....SIN duty free store staff tell me Australia is only country which requires duty free alcohol to be collected on boarding flight and cannot be carried away by purchasing pax from Duty Free store?

Or they search the bag.
2.25L is the limit you are allowed in without risking a fine (if you don't declare) and paying duty.
