You dont think much of taxi drivers then, do you.
Most of them probably have a sense of conscience, but in the end they just don't, or can't, care. Unless they're being mugged or assaulted, it's next job, next job, next job.
You have to feel sorry for the ones that actually do get mugged or assaulted. They usually don't get any justice for their pain anyway, and whoever did the crime against them usually gets off lightly, and that is
if they get caught in the first place.
As a former cop, I wouldn't think reporting a sexual act in the back of a car a trivial matter.
So you must've been one of the better cops around.
Of course, I'm sure that compared to the days that you were a cop, not as many people were being shot, and the crime rate was not as rampant as it is now.
Also, there are
big differences between reporting the act, arrest due to the act and punishment for the act.
Huge differences.
Back on topic, no one has still entertained the possibility that it's an allegation but the couple were not actually caught in the act.
Probably good to know that being a taxi driver in the UAE is a tad safer than most Western countries. At least the cops will believe you.
