As I said above, everyone has the right to voice their concerns or opinion, but we don't need to be broken records about it. Voice your concerns and be a part of constructive conversation like we all try to do here. If you don't like the QF program, try another one and see if that fits you better.

I'm interested in this [benefits of WP] because for domestic travel I find DJ Plat gives me more than QF WP. Internationally it is QF for me.

For me a huge part is the J lounge - Spirits, and a choice of food vs wine and limited food which you have to fight for, although the toaster is nice!
Breakfast in the J lounge vs Virgin - Well there is no comparison at all! QF wins hands down

I do like the bonus points on cars and the Velocity shop and Earn store, but I can make do without earning xx_x Virgin bonus points and stick with the base points for car rentals.

The upgrade certificates are nice with Virgin but I haven't used them for this year and the 4 will expire before I get a chance to use them

I find this comment interesting as a common theme on AFF is that the only thing consistent about Qantas service is the inconsistency :!:

Again, for me a decent lounge, and IFE on all flights! Which is why I prefer QF

I can't speak for the OP but I can tell you that I don't feel that way at all. Nothing to do with exclusivity for me and everything to do with certainty and comfort. When I can't take up the benefits that status supposedly affords me because of overcrowding then it is a problem for me. I'm not annoyed at those doing the overcrowding I'm annoyed at QF for letting it happen.

It seems to me there is a disconnect between me and many other posters here. I am a world weary traveler expecting to grab a half decent meal on my next lounge visit because I didn't have time to get one at the last hotel, and the meal on the plane will not be something to look forward to.....and then I'll be doing it all again a few days later. :-|

I don't think there's a disconnect in your expectations; there's a number of WP's and WP1's who are in a very similar situation doing significant BIS miles in various travel classes who have similar expectations regarding lounges and access.

I see the main difference is an attitudinal difference between the way you've conveyed your expectations and the way another person on the forum has communicated their expectations. Your's have been reasonably considered and consistant without resorting to histrionics.

There is one person bemoaning the double status credit offers bolstering ranks of WP's (perhaps Virgin should be blamed, because before they started chasing corporate $, double SC's offer were as rare as the proverbial). Without doubt, QF target these to increase revenue through these offers, making the company stronger, makes sense and probably gives them more money to spend in F lounges. As WP's have no attractive equivalent alternative, I doubt they'll lose many because of overcrowding in the F lounge. If there were alternatives (eg F lounge equiv access flying out of SYD/MEL by a competitor, I think Feper's arguments would have a lot more merit).

We can't blame VA for DSC as they have been around for quite some time (I got my first one back in 2007). and as far as i am aware they have offered them every year since, and also quite a few years before. Difference is now that with online communities we tend to hear about it more often. As the number of FF overall has increased then possibly the targeted audience has also increased too. Also add that more people are flying for work these days than say 6 years ago (certainly applies in my case and who i work with), so naturally the number of PS SG and WP's will increase simply from numbers in flying.

I should say the domestic lounges Never had my pass scanned, I just hold it up and show them the "business" wording or the QC word depending how I am traveling.

Yeah, good luck with that strategy. I've received the DSC promo once. It was at a time where I had a lull in my travels and all the travel I had planned was already booked. I do believe I managed to get a total of about 40SC's beyond what I would have gotten.

DSC is not free SC's it is a ploy to get you booking and flying in the very near future. If it was free SC's they'd award them for existing bookings.

Yup agree with that - I have had a few DSC offers (for some reason Miss FM seems to get them not Mr FM or I). However as I am obsessive about planning things way in advance, I have never been able to take advantage of one.....

Don't know if anyone has said in the previous pages, but they are renovating the lounges at SIN.

Has anyone seen if the renovations have started. I was wondering about this when I was at the QF (less than) F Lounge on Saturday.

I'd vote for that but suspect you wouldn't stay there long!
