Keep up the good work Alan Joyce... A few more years of years of bad decision making and the rule of 1 and delaying new aircraft deliveries - and we'll end up having an airline of a communist bygon era. After the ground crew have opened the iron gates to permit boarding and 'run for your lives' dash to secure a seat on the plane, only to board your 1980s manufactured aircraft with overhead projector screens whilst observing shady deals between passengers and cabin crew to secure your seat upgrade. You can look forward to terrible inflight service where flight attendants look at you as if you've come from Mars , with the inflight meal a morsel of microwaved chicken with no spices and a bitemarked plastic cup of salted mineral water. The smell throughout the entire flight is of A1 jet fuel. If travelling from a foreign port, none of the crew will speak english, but they will look good in their new uniforms because they are the only ones that matter on today's flight. Your flight also carries freight, that's why you may well end up seeing chickens roosting in what was previously an overhead locker or in a cage in the seat next to you. Cannot guarentee we'll get you and your luggage to the destination you paid for, until we can raise enough funds from all the passengers to replace a broken aircraft part. Thank you for flying our newly rebranded airline Purgatory Airways.

I've read bad threads, incorrect information/assumptions and some outlandish comments at times - but this is pure hyperbole.

OP, you forgot to add "Rant over" to the end of your post.

Perhaps reconsider prior to hitting the Post Thread button next time. Cheers

To the OP, what reasons do you have to support the claims you have made? :-|

Was it hard to get the crack pipe past airport security, or were they too busy confiscating people's water bottles and deodorant cans?

I agree with the OP, first thing I suspect QF will do is sell off their entire fleet and purchase some planes built in the 1980's (just out of interest will they all be B747 varients I'd like that and that was the only thing QF was flying in the early 80's). Of course they will also rip out any sort of IFE and replace it with those piped music tubes (which funnily enough I'd always found worked better that the current headsets)

Also I am looking forwards to meals on all flights regardless of length. CBR-SYD 3 course meals here I come...

Will it be 1980's pricing as well (no inflation of course)? If so I'll be moving all my flights to F regardless of length (as of course F would be on all flights, no F lounge would be a problem, not sure when QF brought in lounges but I do believe it was invite only)

I also think TA wil be looking forwards to this new but old QF as paper tickets would no doubt be making a return. AFAIK (remember) all bookings needed to be via a TA

I recall talk of impending doom in the 70's when robots started producing goods in factories. we were told the only logical consequence was rising unemployment. Of course that didn't happen. We all have jobs and we're no longer doing hard work because machines do them for us.

Same was said about immigration. "They'll take our jobs" etc. In fact people are still saying that.

People don't like change because they don't understand why it happens.

QF will be fine because it is changing to adapt. Anyone remember an airline called Ansett?

Interesting stat to come put this week indicating that through passengers to LHR have swung 25% of their business across to a middle east transit point over one in Asia, the same week we see BKK go an A330 with QF!

We are all entitled to an opinion regardless of how far fetched it may seem to others.

The OP raises some valid points and it is quite clear that it is time for Alan Joyce to find his true calling in life. It certainly isn't being the head of Qantas....

Your crack pipe is safe... I bribed security staff with the money you gave me. Any other smuggling errands?

It's apparent some of you don't have a sense of humour - it was a joke to remind you of the glory days of Aeroflot. As if! At least flying would become 'an experience' once again. Honestly some of you lot couldn't tell the difference? Hmmm tough crowd bru-ha ha

A smiley face such as :p at the end of a comment not to be taken seriously is usually the thing to do here.

Plus jokes usually go to the playground...

Moving this to the playground seems appropriate.
This thread is one of the tame ones. A lot worse has been allowed to stay in the main forum when it is not even good enough for the Playground.

Is it just me or is AFF changing way too quickly? Some of these people would have much more fun on Flyertalk....

I'm ignoring a lot of threads and blocking people every day to cope with all the cough - it helps.

I have not blocked anyone yet but I am ignoring a lot of threads and I am ignoring a lot more on a daily basis.

Thanks JohnK will check out Flyertalk - it seems that first world problems are a bit much for some here on this website, I am only new to this forum and learning the customs of AFF. Never even knew about the Playground. But what would I know. I had tantalised the notion of considering membership here - and now not so much. Diversity is a good thing and so is having one's own opinion and having the freedom to express it. Apparently not in this atmosphere. Different threads appeal to your sense of mood and thought at the time, and it's important to have a range. Was hoping to share a lot of the travels/sights/sounds I have lined up for 5 weeks in the USA in August/September but seems tripadviser and other forums would be a superior alternative. Best to go where one is appreciated. And thanks for all the info. :)

Stick around, no one has a perfect record when it comes to posts/threads. Getting comments that are blunt - is part of the scene....we all get them!

Read your OP numerous times and there was nothing in it to indicate it was anything more than a rant. Emoticons are your friend.
