Whoops, the inaugural Scoot flight went tech!
How badly tech?
The "technical fault" saw the Boeing 777-200 aircraft making a U-turn on the runway and returning to the boarding bay at about 12.20am, 40 minutes after it had pulled away from Terminal 2 at Changi Airport. TODAY deputy features editor Christopher Toh, on board the flight, said the passengers reacted calmly to the delay, with Scoot's flight attendants serving milk and Oreo cookies to the 400 travellers on board, many of whom were members of the media
Tony Fernandez is a dodgy source given he's the competition.
For once, I'm (more) inclined to believe the SMH.
Surprised the delay was only "1hr" - if they were 40mins into the flight that's another 40mins (plus) to turn round, offload, refuel, take off etc.
Some rubbery reporting all around it would seem.

An article i read said it was a medical emergency and delayed one hour. So which is right?

400 passengers onboard a 777-200!!! That is not where I want to be sitting.
Surely the quote of 400 passengers is an exaggeration. I thought it was 32 in business and 280 in economy.
I certainly hope it was an exaggeration. But if we read of such inaccurate reporting by a local news agency, we would all be screaming about the poor quality of the news media!
