Chairmans Lounge (CL) experiences

There most certainly is :) I am very sure I am in the highest category with my travel and employer (DFAT) I qualify. I know for sure that there is a status called CLPO (CL Platinum One).

at that level you must be the Sec or Dep Sec of DFAT :)

I preferred your earlier reference to Kylie Class ;)

Just used her as an example. ;)

Anyways, back to my question, would a top ASX 50 company (or Gov Department Head) who might have several CL's due to contracts with QF, and have a few division heads who 'might' be CL+WP1, thus CLPO, be higher up the pecking order of say a Keating/Howard who might be a CL Platinum, (which l think they get due to CL tier)? Is there a CL VIP level?
Then again, this is pure speculation. How would anybody know unless we get it from a few top notches of QF management?

Re: Pre Intl travel call from the P1 desk

2) LTP is something that exists but doesn't exist. I have heard rumblings. When I asked the CL team they said that its incredibly incredibly incredibly incredibly incredibly incredibly hush hush (if it even exists less than 50 exist).

It does exist. No doubt extremely rare, but yes it exists!

Thanks for sharing btw. Interesting thread. Confirms a lot of what I'd suspected, and a few things I had no idea about. :)

Cheers,
- Febs.

Leave your employment and become a self funded CLPO,

Lets see if you can be so valuable to QF then.

I’m not sure why anyone wants to disrupt the free share of information this community brings out.

I’d imagine QF would always rescue John Howard (or someone else high and important) over their most frequent and highly spending member, simply for the good PR that brings about.

Oh pushing me here...... I know that there is some form of a CL VIP level for exPM's etc but thats about it AFAIK.

It is truley beyond me why I should have to put up with these kind of digs like this or the remark about cutting F from certain routes etc. I am sorry if I come across in a certain DYKWIA way then please accept my apologies this is not my intention. I love this community so I decide to post what I know about something I would have thought others would have enjoyed knowing about. But when counter threads are run on Facebook about me behind my back and these digs occur it sours the experience of sharing. I have worked very hard in life to get where I am and it is fun to be able to be a part of something exclusive.

I would imagine that there are many 'hidden' ways of classifying flyers within the QF system, not just within the CL tier. For instance I assume that sitting Federal MPs and Senators who are granted CL membership as a 'perk' of their position would be higher up the scale than someone who attained CL as part of a company travel negotiation with QF.

I also imagine that the industry insiders reading these threads (hi RedRoo) must be having a great time reading through these threads and watching us CL-wannabies peek in through the lolly shop window...

I do wonder what industry insiders do think of such a thread.

My employer has always been ME, so I have also had to work very hard to get what I have in life.

My perception of CL was that it was not so much about it being "secret" but rather the members were quite discreet.

Everyone is different though and that's why this is a great forum.

I would say that zachary.august will be a CL member long after I am just a lowly WP1, as his employer has very deep pockets and the reality is that in his department extensive/expensive travel is the norm. (BTW, good luck to him. Obviously his type of travel pattern isn't for someone just out of Uni. He would have had to have worked hard to rise through the ranks)

Don't worry about the 'insiders' James. I bet most of them would be in the same boat as us, and l dare say it, Red Roo probably too. Red Roo is just a PR employee of QF, not involved in the decision making of CL's, which is higher up the ladder (no offence Red Roo).

Doesn’t matter what sort of status level you are, I’d send off an email and ask for proof they’d been fired, that’s appalling!

If only it was that easy to fire people Sam....

This is a free forum and members can post what they want within the guidelines but this post goes against what this forum is about. I might be out of line saying this but seriously..

Rain it in.

I would presume so myself, however, did you see the coverage when he was accused of delaying a USA-Australia flight?

You can get sexually assaulted in the Chairman's Lounge if a particular Sydney-based male company executive who is not a member of AFF and is in his sixties finds you on a gay networking i-phone app and invites you in.

That’s true, I believe in unions, my family is heavily Labour (UK).

But some people clearly shouldn’t be working in certain industries. I think a nice desk job would be more fitting for that FA.

Hmmm, this must raise a few eyebrows with the staff.

I received a similar message last year, from a older gentleman inviting me into the SYD J lounge. I politely responded, "thanks, but no thanks - I've already been let inside"

[mod hat]The purpose of this thread, like all AFF threads, is to share information.

Let's keep that in mind as we all move forward in this thread and let's all stop sniping at each other :!: [/mod hat]
