Chairmans Lounge (CL) experiences

CL is the only domestic lounge with wine that's actually enjoyable. That's enough to commend it to me.

Alas no coughtails, but buckets of caviar to slurp while snacking on larks tongues and fois gras - all the time laughing at the plebs subsisting on platinum party pies and pancakes in the J lounge. It's tough at the top.....

I met a CL this morning, a former high court judge. I saw the black RFID tag on his briefcase. He said he doesn't use the private lounges because all the other CL's want to talk to him :D

nope, better. Free pour - ie do it all yourself...

It's the only lounge I know of that they don't glare at you for having a Quad G&T with No. 10 and Lime at 7am....

So they have all the apparatus for a dirty martini, say? May have to reconsider my career path.

Re: Pre Intl travel call from the P1 desk

Yep and here are some pictures of the LAX TBIT "CL" its really a VIP room that all CL's (and important First Flyer's) are placed by the First Host. It is booked in advance by the First Host :D

That's actually just a room that's 'reserved' it's frequently opened as the F lounge becomes chocka block in the evenings. I saw someone being evicted from it last time I was there as they had to open it up as there was literally no seats available (not even at the computers).

It's on the left hand side just as you walk in and turn left. It's like the private rooms in the SYD/MEL F lounge, anyone can usually reserve them (most often families to let children run wild in a confined space ;))

Re: Pre Intl travel call from the P1 desk

Other than that, food is a lot better, drinks are top shelf, available 24/7 and are free pour.

Have private office space available and much much much better bathroom/shower facilities.

Can't say the booze is 'top shelf'. They only had Bombay Sapphire for the Gin in the SYD CL when I was kindly admitted in. The food was so/so as well (although the little friand things they had were quite tasty). The wine is also a little better than J, but the F Lounge is still far better.

Which CL has Tanq 10? I know the SYD one didn't (didn't even have Tanq!).

I suspect my house is better too!

When I first attained WP all I was hoping for in the J lounge was Bombay or Tanq, while not top shelf I would enjoy it so much more than Gordons!

Re: Pre Intl travel call from the P1 desk

So, another CL question:

I've heard that QF send CL members travel preference forms about once a year. How specific are these forms exactly - particularly in regard to seating preferences? Do they let you list specific preferred seat numbers on each aircraft type and configuration (and in each cabin) - such as 1A for A380 F, rows 11-13 A380 J, 80A/K/EROW 'window' A380 Y, row 4 aisle 738 dom etc etc etc, or do they simply ask which parts of the cabin you'd prefer to sit in (eg. any 'A' seat in A380 F, bulkhead in dom J etc etc)? :)
