Qantas First Lounge Invites on eBay

The way I see it, a 50 min massage, and a meal + drinks at rockpool would cost way more than $56! :DNormal terms and conditions apply, like you have to be taking a QF or JQ flight the same day, only valid once, etc.

As mentioned, it's just Neil Perry 'designed' food. That said, there's some very good ones (if you were going in the next few weeks, i'd highly recommend the Fig salad starter it's amazing).

If you want a spa slot, be sure to get to the lounge at least 3 hours before your flight (ie, as soon as you can after check in opens) or earlier if you can. MEL slots fill up very very quickly, and SYD seems to be booked solid a lot of the time. The earlier the better.

You'll get a 30 minute back massage at best, as the longer treatments are reserved for those flying in F. Sometimes you will only manage a manni/peddi or a neck/shoulders massage.

Still, for the price you got it for, it's a bargain. I recommend the Taittinger with a good splash of Tanqueray No. 10 ;)

I need about 3 of these passes for January next year, but all the ones on Ebay expire in Dec 2012 :(

Someone else put it quite succinctly somewhere else, but... if your "local" is a bit up market (like mine are) then the Qantas First "restaurant" menu is going to look quite similar to your local pub's bistro menu, not Rockfools!

Qantas First Bistro with Sofitel service.

I didn't know the longer treatments were only for F pax. Sounds like discrimination to me...;)

can i ask some silly newbie questions?

1. How does one get a comp card usually?
2. Do you have to "book" a table for the sit down meal?
3. F lounge only for international travel isnt it...
4. F lounges access available at most decent sized airports overseas?

Thanks :) - May get to platinum sometime in next two months fingers crossed :)

1. the lounge pass was given out to those who in theory were affected by the grounding late last year.
2. First in First served, no booking as such
3. Yes in the case of QF
4. The One World lounge finder has details, however the lounges do vary considerably in quality, with only a handful up to the SYD/MEL QF offering IMHO.

How about flying oneworld First?

Website says at the top of the first table that the next onward flight flying F must be a QF or BA flight number, but when you scroll down it says for international OW F customers, onward flight must be OW marketed and operated.

Eligibility and Access to The Qantas Club lounges

That maybe the case in relation to the MEL and SYD Flounges as I don't believe other onewold airlines from those ports have their own First lounges.

I deliberately left it out due to this: (Lounge access - oneworld)
oneworld lounge access for frequent flyers by tier status

Enjoy exclusive access to premium airport lounges around the world as an equivalent oneworld Emerald or Sapphire frequent flyer member. Members of oneworld airline frequent flyer programmes with the equivalent of oneworld Emerald or Sapphire status can use any lounge offered by any oneworld airline when departing on any flight marketed and operated by any oneworld member airline*, no matter in which cabin class they are flying.

oneworld lounge access for First Class or Business Class travellers

Indulge yourself before departure in a wider range of airport lounges when you fly First Class or Business Class with a oneworld member airline.

Customers flying First or Business Class have access to the equivalent class of lounge regardless of their frequent flyer status. (First Class passengers may be accompanied by one guest travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld airline).

That’s because they were given out due to the grounding. If they choose to release another batch for whatever reason, and they end up on eBay, they’ll most likely last for a year from then, but that wont help you unless you can get them I’m afraid.

So this is the first time that F passes have been available ?

Officially. I've heard of f lounge access being given out before for service recovery but presume this never involved vouchers.

I’ve always prided myself on being able to drink and eat about $250 worth each visit ;) :p

I think this is about right - once you account for spa, 2-3 course dining, drinks, drinks & more drinks. Sometimes the shower is worth at least $100.
