ATR crashes in Siberia

More like it's just what happens in Siberia.

Dash 8s are slightly ahead with hull loss numbers compared to the ATR, interestingly the airlines seem to prefer the ATR for operations now with just 39 orders for the Dash 8 while the ATR72 has around 200 orders. Regardless, propjets will always have a higher hull loss record owing to the environment they operate in!

Little implications for Virgin Australia unless they start flying to Hotham in blizzards and forget to de-ice. But will wait for the official report.

Agree with your comments re Virgin Sam.
Obviously I am no expert when it comes to air crashes but this is sounding very similar to the crash of American Eagle 4184-except of course that one happened as the aircraft was on descent, not just after take off.
Cheers
