Hi all,

So I've booked a flight but had to miss it, will I still be awarded the points and SC?

Thanks all

You only get points and SCs for flights taken generally.

In a word - NO.

You need to have had a boarding pass issued and for it to have been scanned at the gate for your flight to register.

I wouldn't think this is typical but once, about three years ago, I no-showed and did get points and SCs.
It was a corporate booking 'Y' domestic.

They take your money - but allocate no SC or points. Never understood why not!

Generally no but you never know. Mistakes do happen.

If you used OLCI and did not turn up for the flight you may still end up getting credited.

I forgot about a return flight and got no credit for it at all.

If you did get points for every flight you were booked on even if you noshowed it would then be possible to earn SC & points several times on the one sector/ticket even though you ultimately flew once. This would only be applicable if you were on a flexible or corporate fare that permitted rebooking after a nowshow.

with respect to no shows, what was the general feeling when the strike was on, Qantas canceled (with refund) my return flight to the USA as it was date dependent and there was no point rebooking, but should I also have been awarded the SCs as well?

I asked for, and received the equivalent points and SCs. Others did, too, as reported in various threads. Don't know if it is too late for you to apply at this stage - but worth a go?
