So. I was browsing the Velocity website and noticed a very interesting update for status pax flying through AUH... couldn't find any other posts on the topic, so thought I'd kick off a new thread. In summary:

Velocity Global Lounge Access page said:
Al Reem Lounge, Abu Dhabi
Gold members plus a guest when flighting in whY on EY or whY / whY+ on VA

Pearl Business Class, Abu Dhabi
Platinum members plus a guest when flighting in whY on EY or whY / whY+ on VA

":D"

Can someone confirm this for me:

When I flew last month VA domestic, looking through the in flight mag, it said something like this:
"as a premium economy international guest, you get access to Virgin lounges and that of our partners on the day of travel".

Does this mean as a Velocity bronze, flying Premium economy with VA, I will get lounge access in AUH?

Would suggest that that was poor wording in the magazine - no lounge access offered to whY+ pax as far as I know. :(

Here's a photo of whats in the mag..

"International Long Haul
Premium Economy
As a Premium Economy Guest, stretch out and relax with 95cm (38 inches) of legroom and enjoy the all-inclusive food, beverages and in-flight entertainment available. Premium Economy Guests can also enjoy access to Virgin Australia lounges and those of our airline partners of the day of travel."

May have to give them a call and ask who their partner airlines are... and then get my lounge access!

Very pleased to read this.

I'll be flying BNE->SYD->AUH->CDG return in a month in Y+ and am delighted to read I'll have a decent lounge to access during the AUH layover. Unfortunately, I'm travelling with my mother and sister, so someone will have to miss out and languish in the terminal. Better than everyone missing out however. I would like to know if there is an etiquette among family pax when someone has to miss out on lounge access... rock paper scissors? No, surely mother pulls rank.
