I'm about to book an AF flight from CDG to ATH in Y, then on to Santorini flying OA. AF gives me 23kg of luggage but OA only allows 20kg.

I'm fairly sure AF will interline with OA, but with regards to luggage, what will be the allowance for the entire journey? Will the most significant carrier rule kick in and give me 23kg all the way?

I'd assume each airlines limit would be as per the fare booked. So AF - 23Kg and OA - 20kg.

Might be best to stick to the 20 and not chance it, I hear the Greek's are looking at excess baggage fees to get the budget balanced

AFAIK Res 302 only applies to bookings that are actually 'interlined', not just an added segment to the journey.

As indicated, MSC does not kick in unless it's all the one PNR.

If the one PNR, then the allowance AF for should be the drum.

ANA SKY WEB

"c) For travel within a IATA Tariff sub-area, the carrier performing carriage on the first international sector."
(All travel is within the one 'sub area', being "Europe".)

Thanks for the replies. I tried a local travel agent who told me AF does not allow open jaw bookings i.e. CDG-ATH-NCE. Pfft!

I ended up booking on the AF website AF CDG-ATH, a four hour wait which hopefully should be enough taking in account all that can happen, then on to Santorini on A3 on their site. AF from ATH to NCE a few weeks later.

The fare was cheaper than the OA option which I found on expedia, flying on a jet and excess luggage quoted at €2 for each kilo over the 20 kg.
