Can anyone guess what time my flight should have departed from BNE tonight? Does not even look like boarding anytime soon. I love Friday nights in BNR airport. ;)

It was on time when I got to the airport close on 2 hours ago.

At least getting here early was worth an hour or so catching up with another AFFer for the first time....

Let me guess. 7:15 flight to SYD? Still delayed... Current estimate 7:50. Will it make that?

I think I know who the AFF'er was, but can't be sure. Amazing who you run into in lounges.

I'll be in the BNE J lounge tomorrow around 7:30am. Feel like my weekend home is the airport at the moment!

JohnK - it was my pleasure.

Of course I got to the DJ terminal to find my flight to CNS is delayed by at least 35 mins and counting ;)

Heh. Funny that, I was thinking of you and your bad luck with BNE Friday flights. So I booked the 1500ish QF flight home, when I saw the delayed lights I thought I was for sure going to suffer your fate.

Flight only left 10mins late. *Phew*

Flew yesterday DRW/BNE on QF825 which was late leaving DRW a) because the inbound BNE/DRW flight had headwinds & b) because it's was Thu & the A330 which flies HKG/BNE as QF98 before being towed across to domestic for the BNE/DRW sector. There was a grub in whY who drank too much then started using F word at the crew for putting him off-tap.

As one flight attendant said to me "our F word is better - Federal Police" & they didn't disappoint as there was one Duty Manager & no less than 8 AFP to 'assist' the offender disembarking the aircraft.

Very near BNE airport!

Not quite. Pushed back just after 8:00pm but made up sometime and got to gate 3 in SYD just after 9:30pm which was ~50 minutes late.

Thoroughly enjoyed the company. I did warn you though that I am a jinx. ;)

In case anyone's partial to a glass of Taittinger ( as I am). Vintage cellars has it on special just now :

Not anywhere near the half price quoted but better than I've been able to source locally in recent times
Bottoms Up ;)

.. and... 1 year ago, I moved to London  time goes too quick :!:

I remember I was scared out of my wits, asking a certain member from here many questions, thinking I couldn't do it. In the end, I did Ok and worked it all out for myself :)

And just so that people don't think my delays are random delays I have managed to cause another system wide delay at SYD airport today. ;)

Every flight appears to be arriving late into SYD and my flight looks to be delayed at least 10 minutes at this stage. :p

Hope no one is travelling into/out of SYD today....

Today I competed in the annual Bridge to Brisbane fun run where I was able to finish the 10km course under 60 minutes. Official results come out monday in The Courier Mail. I was jogging the whole way so not sure how I can go much faster than 60 minutes, last year I finished the course in 65 minutes so a 10% improvement from last year.

2 other AFF members Anat0l and Johnsydney2000 also competed as well. Anat0l was able to finish the course in under 100 minutes. It was good to catch up with them both after the race. The race was held after the GCC challenge so the steps didn't count to Anat0ls total for GCC for 2011.

I competed in this years Sydney City 2 Surf which is a 14km event, the Bridge to Brisbane is only 10kms so a little easier.

That's great. I ran 14.4km last Mon. Took about 110 mins. All up ran 35.4 km this week....got to get that weight down but visits to the QF F lounges in Mel & Syd this week will not help:(

Oxymoron! :p

Though well done guys!

Don't worry you are safe. No flights for 2 weeks so all airline schedules back on time.

Only 17 minutes late this time but means I missed the 9:00pm Coachtrans by 4 minutes and now waiting for the 9:40pm Coachtrans.

Can't wait for the airtrain to be extended beyond 8:00pm but I am afraid that is only going to happen as I am going to stop commuting to Brisbane....

Have you met many FA's taking the same flights as you?
Can't say that I have met any FAs taking the same flights as me. I think they all avoid my flights once they have been on my flight once. ;)

And what is worse is the 9:40pm Coachtrans is the 22 seater with the bus driver from hell. When I started waiting almost 30 minutes ago there was hardly anyone waiting for Coachtrans. It looks like being full now and the way he does the route it means Spring Hill is last (most drivers do this first) which means I do not get there for an hour or so.

I just love commuting....

Survived my Tiger flight home...

Not without a little worry though. They couldn't fire up the engines, a side effect of which was that fuel smell in the cabin...

Engineers came on board, and went on to the flight deck. Cue lots of arms flying about and what sounded like an argument. Eventually on our way 30 minutes later. The captain described the issue using the phrase "you know what computers are like".

Can't say it inspired confidence in the airline.

Also noted that there were 5 cabin crew plus 2 on the flight deck operating the flight.

I suppose I'd fly them again if it was the difference between going for a final and not...but certainly not by choice. It was a very tight squeeze for me (being tall) and if there wasn't a spare seat next to me it would have been very very difficult.

Is that an announcement, or a hypothetical?
