If you ever have a moment to get sucked into a game, and have a facebook, try 'Airline Manager' its a little game whereby you create and manage your own airline. It includes, purchasing new aircraft, choosing the right routes, maintaince, and managing staff strikes!!

You start off with a set ammount of cash, fuel and one 737-800! Fuel prices go up and down, so you have to try your best to hedge it. If you are sitting there waiting for the fuel to drop so you can purchase more... Just imagine how Alan Joyce feels!!

Quite a good little game they have made. Does anyone else on here play it? Maybe we need to get a friendly competition going? :p

Do I get to harass my friends with constant requests for help on this game???

I've just added it. Trying to decide where my first flight will go.

I'm in, just need to get home. Having finally just cleared out 130+ game requests I'll definitely be hassling the friends.

Would you like to own up to this Karens?

I haven't found a way to ask all my friends to join just yet... I'm sick of getting many invites to join games...

By the way.... My airline name "Qantas Blue" nolonger makes any sense. Damn you Virgin!!

OT, but does anyone here play Airlinesim?
It's the most in depth airline management sim that I'm yet to come across and I find it extremely addictive.
I'd be keen to see anyone else is playing, and if so which "world" they're playing in...

I'll start it up now.... But I'm worried I'll become addicted and waste more time that I already do.

Haha.
If it's any consolation the game runs at real time so it does force you to wait and not play it 24/7.

No, thats worse. If this game is anything like airline manager, then I keep thinking to myself, no. I'll just wait 30mins till this 787 lands, then I'll go to bed. :p

Yeah, I know the feeling. Just waited for a plane to land so that I could schedule a transfer flight and now I'm waiting for an alliance partner's new terminal at HND to open so that I can assign my flights to it... I'm such a sucker for this

I tried to run my airline like QF but that dent get me very far ha!

Used to play this (a lot), but the interface just got on my nerves after a while.

One of my big strategy was to hoarde cash, make sure to buy enough fuel to top up my tanks at the low end of the cycle, then buy a shipload of planes and routes at the same time.

Once you've done that, simply keep the planes flying (start them at least every 4hrs), and then roll in the cash for a few days, then repeat.

Used to play it daily for about a year. But when I realised I'd expanded as far as possible and wouldn't be able to reach #1 I gave up.

I just purchased 200,000 shares in Qantas Blue. If anyone wants me to buy in to help them achieve the stock sold achievement let me know.

My fleet current consists of

A380-800 x 850
A340-600 x 200
747-8 x 200
A350-1000 x 200
787-3 x 200
777-200ER x 200
777-300 x 200
E190 x 200
TU-104 x 200
A380F x 20
777F x 10

Haven't played AM in ages... good to know some of you guys do, might get back into the swing of it now myself!

Also just bought 200k shares in Qantas Blue... :)

A tad addictive..

Used to play for a while ... gave up when I realised how time-wasting it was and that the time was better spent. ;)

My airline is 'Trans Australian Airlines' ...
