Hi Everyone!
I am new to this forum, and am amazed to find out how much info I can get here!!!
I have got a question, and hopefully and get some advice from all the smart people here!
I am looking for a credit card that will give me the most benefits for travelling. I am currently a member of Qantas, Asia Miles and Virgin atlantic flying club. (all at basic levels only, and am happy to join other program if they are better)
I have a gold AMEX, which has about 100,000 points and a CBA gold master card which has about 150,000 points. (both cards are free, and I spend about $2-3000 on the amex and $1-2000 on the master card each month)
shall I swtich to another card? or update to Platinum? and should I look at other airline loyalty programmes?
I AM SO CONFUSED!! PLEASE HELP!!!
Cheers.

If you want Qantas points, choose an Everyday Rewards Mastercard with application forms available online or at any Woolworths store. It’s $89 a year and 1:1.

If your budget allows it fork out $900 for the AMEX Charge card (have a look around here for the 75k bonus point sign up offer they have).

Ooooops................ obviously my mind was on something else... how embarrassing!!!

and Yes I am considering the Amex Platinum card, the only prob is that I already have a Amex card, and I think that the bonus points might only be available for new members (correct me if I were wrong... and I hope that I am wrong!!)

Also Thanks for the replies!!;)

You should still get the bonus points as it is a new account. But check first. When I first got my Amex Platinum Charge card they gave me a discount on the annual fee as I'd been with Amex for about 6 years already - you could try that as an alternative to bonus points and may get up to 50% off the annual fee for the first year.

I've just rec'd my 75k of points and was a Platinum Credit Card holder prior to applying for the Platinum Charge Card. It's less of a punt for AMEX to issue you a Charge Card as an existing account holder as they have an idea of your spending & repayment habits.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks! I just applied for my new Platinum charge card! did you have any problems transferring the rewards points from Ascent to Ascent Premium?
