With the reward rate on Citibank's business visa card at 1.25 points per dollar spend can anyone tell us if they have used this card and if there are any downsides.
The web site says you can transfer these points to any of Kris,Qantas or Velocity and at $149 annual fee it looks good.
Is it as good as it appears?

I've had the card for a few years now. From the point of rewards the card's good - points transfer 1:1 to Qantas in blocks of 10,000, else 1.5:1 to Velocity or Krisflyer (so not as great for them). You certainly can't find a better Visa card for Qantas points earning anyway.

On the downside, it's fair to say Citibank's customer service is mediocre at the best of times and given there's no longer any way to transfer points to Qantas apart from by phone now you'll have to speak with them from time to time. If you have an actual issue of some sort you may be left pulling your hair out trying to deal with them, they're not particuarly empowered to assist. But apart from that the card's been fine.

i've had the card for a year n reasonably happy with it.

had a couple fo rewards issues, but considering they erred in the number of points they put in my account to fix the problem (an extra 0 at the end) + another 5000 points for another problem, i've had about a years worth of points go into my account in the last 6 weeks.
i believe you van get the card half price for the 1st yr at the moment.

I can only echo the other comments made in this thread (particularly about their poor customer service) and also do be aware that there is a points cap of 80,000 points per year that can be earned on the card. This doesn't bother me at all because I use my Amex Plat primarily and have this card as a backup where Amex isn't accepted or they apply a surcharge.

Thanks for helping me rule this Visa card out as I need one that can handle many times that figure.

I think the NAB QF Platinum is the card you want for high spending - no points capping and 0.66 on the visa and 1.5 on the Amex

Can you get this card without a ABN?

I need a CC that will let me rack up business expenses while getting me points without breaking contractual agreements...

No ABN required

note that it's capped at 80,000 points a year. I'm not sure how strict CB are with this.

I'll reach that cap but i guess 80k is much better than nothing...

Any other options for this sort of use...

I want to use my personal card but putting 10-15 days of hotels a month on the card I know they're going to come and ask me questions...

If that's the case why don't you get an Amex card?

Most of them give you 1:1 points or better, depending on how much ya willing to pay for the card.

they don't cap points and wont care how much you put on the card each month

Check out the Amex Business Accelerator card as it gives 2:1 points for the 1st 150K and then 1:1 after that. For $169 fee it could be worth it if ya spend is high enough.

The thing I hate about AMEX is that they're not accepted everywhere, especially for food...

Otherwise you're right, it's a good option.

I'm not sure how strict CB are with this.

Some time back a member posted that he/she was still getting points after the limit was reached.

I have 2 CB Emirates cards ( one for Mrs max) and these earned 1.5 Skywards points per dollar spend with a cap on 150,000 points ( $100,000 spend ) per card.
Unfortunately I am like Cove, and do have the ability to spend. The caps were reached within 2 months and CB immediately put a stop to points transfer.

I am coming to the conclusion that the Westpac Platinum Krysflyer card and the NAB Plat Qantas card will be the way to go for me next year. Both are uncapped.

Have had success with Citi Select with 300k points transferred to QF.
Westpac Kris Flyer Platinum and Amex Ultimate work great.
For personal use I went Woolworths Everyday rewards.
Citi is the hardest card to get to work and there are posts that would be funny as long as it wasn't happening to you!
I know others who think the same but an uncapped Select card at a Visa point a dollar is great for lots of QF flying if you are being capped elsewhere.
