Gotta say too, for home/"flagship" lounges, the Wing/Pier in HKG don't hugely impress me.
I do agree that they have been outpaced by SYD/MEL (I really don't rate T5) but what I think is the most compelling story about them for me is that it makes HKG a great place to transit. I know I can get a decent bit of food, nice champagne (better than on board CX certainly) and if a long layover can use a day room. I route through HKG at every opportunity.
Note the HKG CX First Lounges will be closed for renovation over the coming months/year.
I am really looking forward to this and hope I get a chance to test them out later in the year. I was in the cabin on Saturday and it was a nice little J lounge. I am looking forward to seeing those chairs in an F setting - with a decent glass of bubbles!
