hey guys, id just like to share with u abit about these companys,
its actually one company, still operating the same old scam that had even today tonight investigated in 2007,

FHT TRAVEL & FUNTASTIC HOLIDAYS had the ACCC and a few others looking into what they do, they cold call homes and offer $99 return domestic air faires, that are valid for 2 yrs,
they have recently changed there name again from GETAWAY ESCAPES, TOO AUS FLIGHTS, they seem ledgit, but dont be fooled,

i have worked for this company, everything seems great, but it seems like there running, always changeing there name, always in trouble for the same thing

the scam is they offer u $99 return domestic air fairs, the catch is that sometimes they dont tell you, with every air fair sold, comes 7 nights accomidation,

2 air flights is -7 nights accomidation
4 airflights is - 14 nights accomidation
6 air flights is 21 nights accomidation,

sounds good huh?
BUT you actually have to pay for the accomdation seperate, from there resorts, that start from $70 per person per night,
and you have to pay for that at the time of booking the flights,

be carefull guys, there still out there, and there still calling homes everyday.. dont be scamed, look them up on google. not one good thing said about these people, and there not reallly a licenced agent!!!!

it is closed, and very old, iv put this on here because i want people to know that there still out there, just tradeing under a different name as well.. still doing the same old scams

thanks for your post!

Thanks for your post gcgirl it was really helpful.

My friend was called by them the other day, and purchased the flights I think it was around $380ish for two packages and she told me that included her accommodation.

Also if she referred two more people to ring and book then she receives to more flights free! Sounds a bit to good to be true, but i got the number and the name of a lady.

I did ring the number I was given however, and it didn't feel right, the phone dropped out a few times, and the voice recording that answers the phone to give you your options, was the same voice of the person that answered the phone to transfer me!! Bit suss.

I'm going to wait until my friend gets her package they are sending and see what the go is I think. Though I'm not convinced it will be cheaper than getting a good package deal from a travel agent in the end.

Ausflights - Getaway Escapes - Very-Very-Dodgy. Do not give them any money.

Trying to get my money back after being duped as are a lot of other people i believe.
Here is a copy of my last email to them - just before we head to the legal system for a resolution. There are other threads about these people if you look.
They appear to be extremely dodgy.

To quote some one from your organisation that posted on this site.

Yes we do try and deal with customer complaints in a fair and reasonable manner. We willingly give refunds if a consultant has not correctly sold the product, (they must fully inform the customer), and are also required to reconfirm the details before the end of the telephone call. All sales calls are recorded and following a customer complaint about “misinformation” we will willingly refund if the consultant has been wrong. I understand that the law allows the customer to request a copy of the phone call should there be any further dispute. And despite what one forum contributor has stated “There is no cooling off period with phone sales” we don’t subscribe to that.

We try to make communication as clear as possible but as anyone who has completed a course in personal communication would know – people do not always hear what is being said. That is the reason we reconfirm with the customer at the end of a telephone sale.

The customer is then sent a complete package in the mail and they have a number of days “cooling off” period, from date of receipt of that package, (I understand the time varies from one state to the next) in which a person can request a refund.

If you listen to the tape it was never reconfirmed to my partner at the end of the conversation and my partner “Clearly” states a number of times – “Is this all we have to pay?” and at that point the subject was cleverly changed or there was NO mention of having to pay any thing let alone full price for accommodation at any point.

And the next point –Cooling off period.

I collected the first package of the two on Friday afternoon on my way home from work, that night when we read the brochure if soon became apparent that this package was clearly not for us, and in fact we feel very much like we have been scammed if not then definitely misinformed.
So first thing Monday morning my partner rang your 1300 number and stated your questionable sales techniques had clearly put us out of pocket and in fact my sister in law rang the same day also about her purchase.
We were both told that someone had to listen to the phone recordings to see what we had been told – this could only be done by Adam who was going to listen to the tapes later that week.
Now when we had to ring Adam back the following week, he said we had missed the cooling off period, when my partner said that we had rang them on the next business day he said “We would have to prove that”
Now I don’t like your business practices and in fact I think you should do something about them pretty soon or I think you will certainly find trouble.

Can I remind you that you still need to furnish me with a copy of my conversation with your sales person – If you dare…….

Otherwise I’m sure the court will clearly see you only produce them if you feel it is in your interest to do so.

Come on – let’s look at all the facts.

Enough from me now, let’s do this the hard way.

Thanks again for stealing my money – and I am now off to as many forums that I can find to “Spread the Word” J

Remember – Defamationalso called calumny, vilification, slander (for transitory statements), and libel (for written, broadcast, or otherwise published words)—is the communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, or nation a negative image. It is usually a requirement that this claim be false and that the publication is communicated to someone other than the person defamed (the claimant).

So you can bleat all you like about the way the public are misrepresenting your business in the forums – you deserve it.

Bye for now.
