Hello I am wondering if anyone has had experience claiming through NAB Gold Travel insurance, the complementary insurance part of Gold ViSA The cover itself is generally comparable to a range of other products that are on offer. However, the terms of the $200.00 excess appear somewhat ambiguous. i.e. what constitutes an claim under an event - is it every element of medical treatment for a particular “event” –i.e. a broken leg might involve drugs, xray, plaster etc etc therefore if you pay the $200.00 excess per claim on as they've all arisen under the same event, does that mean the excess on that claim would be $600.00+??? Very unclear.
Also I'd be interested to hear if anyone has encountered problems claiming through this travel insurance (AIG/American Home Insurance underwrites)- the complementary version.
I have claimed under the purchase warranty and it was unbelievably efficient - payment in 3 days, but travel insurance seems to be one of those things, that you never want to claim on, but can be difficult to claim on - even when you do pay separately for it.
