QF- Coke Zero

Yes, it seems to have a very different taste to it, same applies for coke served in a glass from a bar or similar. Seems a lot sweeter to me.

I slightly prefer the taste from a bottle (or at least there is something more refreshing about it -maybe its the carbonation). The problem with bars is they are often post-mix, which is certainly not as nice as the bottled or canned coke.

Mrscove says coke out of the small glass bottle is way tastier than out of a can or a plastic bottle.
Does anyone share her thoughts ?

Pepsi Max out of the glass bottles they sell it in 711 etc tastes like
liquid gold!

I find it pretty different to Diet Coke but some people can't tell the difference.

I certainly find them quite different in taste.
Definitely a difference in taste between Coke Zero and Diet Coke.

I still think the original "sugar" version has the better taste but either of these is a decent alternative.

JohnK the diplomat :!:

Cove, I think Elton John does! I seem to remember on one of his Australian tours he only drank Diet Coke out of glass bottles so some assistant was running around like a blue rrrrsd fly trying to find some which I believe they eventually did. Wonder if EJ is now a fan of Coke Zero?

Suppose it's no different to asking for a bowl of M&M's in your dressing room with all the brown ones taken out. Can't remember which band that was, might've been Bon Jovi or Van Halen.

Hi JohnK and ozbeachbabe,
We could start a surge of business to Seven Eleven stores if it is true that they do their cola's in a "tasty glass bottle"style.
Elton John could not be wrong.
Personally I don't do either coke or pepsi as I am an addict.
Instead I have escaped to cascade and crown beer instead as I have no beer addiction and it is refreshing on a warm day.

I drink about 2 cans of (real) coke a year. I can't stand any diet drinks as they are full of chemicals, so water or Madura tea is my staple.

AAAhhhhh COKE original yes my drink of choice.
But coke Zero ..... well is zero for me, more chemicals and cough in it than I have in my typical weed killer, I wouldn't let my kids drink it natural suger is way better than the fake sweeteners they put in zero and diet cokes, check this site out the zero coke movement - Coke Zero Ingredients

Johnny, it can be frightening to learn what they put in food these days. I ate a crumpet this morning for breakfast - it contains 282 (a seriously bad preservative) and 234, supposedly an antibiotic preservative. As for the Coke derivatives, not for me. I suppose at my age it doesn't matter, but just to be sure...;)

Please provide evidence for labeling 282 as 'bad'. Been watching a bit of Today Tonight perhaps?

I don't watch television, fullstop. My only evidence is anecdotal but it comes from yours truly. I eat/drink this stuff and my joints seize up. I've tried this many, many times and the outcome is always the same. Of course, this may be just me. I may have a strange body!:D

In any case, I think we're getting way off topic here so we better get back on course.

It is certainly bad for people that have an intolerance to it!

You've never said a truer word. I must have a weak system or something, but it's not worth the consequences if I eat processed meat (sausages, bacon, silverside etc) as they are chock full of sodium nitrite which adversely effects my lungs. (I've had 5 serious bouts of pneumonia over the years and my lungs are cactus). Preservatives in the 200s, especially sulphur based ones, kill my joints so they're out too.

Thankfully in Australia we have heaps of delicious, chemical free foods which I can enjoy daily, but unfortunately diet drinks are out. Thankfully Madura tea is in.

So we have a JohnK & and johnnyk posting on the same thread.....this could get complicated.

Thanks for clarifying you think you may have a problem with it.

I thought you were making a blanket claim based on popular media squealing about nothing :)

PS if you really are one of the
Tiny % if the population that is intolerant stay away from aged cheese as 282 occurs naturally there!

Fair enough. I do make a blanket claim occasionally after my wife steals aforementioned article.:D

As for allergies etc, it's a huge topic but each person has to make their own minds on it, obviously. My (22yo) son has a massive reaction to egg yolk. Two professional doctors/allergy specialists have categorically stated that, after testing, he is not allergic to egg yolk. In reality, the truth is dramatically different. My eldest son however, has the constitution of a billy goat. Figure that one?

I'm getting further and further off topic here.
