I do hope that im not starting up an old question/s here!?
Your favourite cabin crew, and uniform, and why?(has any cabin crew member ever gone beyond the call of duty?)
Domestic and or International.
Im just curious.
many thanks one and all.:)

There are many stories of crew doing more than they are required scattered around, mainly in TR’s I’d guess.

For me, my vote would always have been CX staff when I was younger, as I mainly flew them as a child and teen, and they were never picky about age regarding alcoholic beverages… Qantas on the other hand ;)

Thai crew have also been very good when I was *G with them. Being ushered through immigration is pretty cool.

many thanks for your reply.
I must say of recent, I have personally found JQ crew helpful,(domestic)I do like those orange jackets.
Id also tackle a SQ cabin crew member for one of those lovely dresses,as like TG also.
Not too keen on DJ uniform, though do like their red coats.
I think QF's dresses are pretty also.
QF staff are always helpful to me aswell.
DJ crew have been 50/50 in my opinion.

IMO JAL look young and beautiful. AC are much older and less attractive.

Asiana Airlines - uniform is neat, clean and smart and the cabin crew bend over backwards to help.

(And they're usually pretty attractive too.. )

I find the middle age male Qantas FA's pretty attentive.

I don't pay much attention to uniforms and have yet to see anything that blew me away.

I think Asian airlines cabin crews normally are far better than European & American, also better than Qantas, Qantas may a little bit than the others.

No discussion of crew and uniform is complete without discussion of SQ crew and SQ's female uniform.

Firstly the uniform (on the female crew) has to be one of, if not the most distinctive uniforms around. Go into any airport where SQ fly (or hotel where the crew stay) and it is instantly recognisable from a distance. Very distinctive (yes MH have similar but still easy to differentiate).

On board, on balance they provide some of the most consistent high level of service across all cabins. They may not be the best and most engaging crew (some QF crew can be much better at engagement) and there is often an accusation of them being robotic (although I my last 3 flights in J not sure if it is co-incidence the crew have been much more "chatty), but they are consistently polite and do have a strong attention to detail.

For male uniforms, DJ's can be quite revealing ;) - don't if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

As for individuals two QF domestic FA's won't reveal surnames but Carol on QF to PER a couple of times was stellar, continuously roaming the cabin in Y - topping up drinks, getting new drinks, helping out mothers with children etc, putting in a solid afternoon's work. Definitely old school, but wow! And on QF link in NSW, a guy by the name of Paul, memorised peoples names continously monitoring and roaming the cabin. Again wow! Lucky enough to fly with him 3 times.

I have to say that my favourite cabin crew were on (my one and only) Concorde flight. They gave me a bottle of Moet when they asked was it a special occassion (well, it was my 35th birthday present to myself).

Otherwise, I'd agree that CX crew on all of my flights with them have been fantasic over the years. They also have the highest op up percentage :D

I can't say that any crew uniform really turns my head.

thank you one and all, very interesting reading.
My parents flew EK,J class CHC to SYD for their 50th wedding anniversary, also my mothers bday at same time, they received a cake and sparkling each and photos with the crew.
:D

My FF progran is NZ's Airpoints.. so I do a fair bit of flying with them... and they are my favourite cabin crew. Professional, efficient and attentive... but also a bit "laid back" and friendly too... Great mixture that. Flew back from LAX on the 27th of April and had my first "repeat" FA.... as she was one I remembered for excellent service that was a real bonus. (Alright.. she is also particularly friendly and very attractive too... ;))

I am one of those who has experienced the robotic type on SQ... so not a huge fan there.. but they do have a very nice uniform.

Asiana? Brown on brown on brown......

As a matter of fact I think I lean towards NH's... the ladies look great in that very businesslike outfit.....

Can you tell I'm pretty conservative??

Seems like theres a lot of "I like this airline because they are attractive and young" or "I like this uniform because the FA's look hot in it".

Ick.

I had a number of flights with LAN in the Americas this year.

I recall all the FA' looking very stylish, elegant and professional in their attire (both men & women). The dark uniforms with touches of red looked very classic. So it might be a bit plain & no exciting for some, but for me very classic look.

Mexicana's female uniform was not very flattering or stylish.

Sorry but that depends on your definition of young.

I have a biased view and would have to say the FA's on A3 look fantastic in their dark blue uniforms (and yes for some reason most of them are young(ish) and Greek), extremely helpful and friendly and provide great service for a LCC.

They are closely followed by AY FA's in their light blue uniform. Had some fantastic service doing a number of tag flights BKK-SIN and BKK-HKG in busines class.

And not far behind would have to be CX, SQ, TG and BA (yes I do like most of their FA's (is it blue uniforms again?) and their accent), AA and DJ.

I have not included QF as I am not entirely happy with the service I expect from them and I fly them way too much. That said there are some fantastic people (mostly CSM's and senior crew) working for them and their uniforms are a very nice design.

Any Asian airline for staff and service. But my personal favorite is JAL. The FA have only to look at me and ask can they help. And I am speakless, and nodding my head YES, like some 16 year old schoolboy, and I'm 55 years old. They leave me speakless!!!

I am speechless.
