Also begs the question what airlines actually have a “wide” F seat/bed?

The widest beds I’ve slept on in the air were on JAL A350 F and Singapore Airlines 777 F. Both felt like actual beds and gave me more than enough space.

The pictures make my ironing board look wider, but yes, will have to wait on the actual dimensions. Perhaps it’s the pillows; I’m thinking about the current J pillow size when looking at this, but they might be more like a euro pillow.

I would say that the photos would have been taken in some sort of wide-angle to show as much of the mockup cabin as possible.
With that, the bed should look wider than it actually is in real life. So I do think there is probably some credit to the observation that the bed is going to be narrow.

Here’s the thing, the selling point for SYD-LHR is not a luxurious suite, but instead missing out on the stopover enroute at SIN or DXB (BA, SQ, EK being the only? competitors) and are there any F competitors to JFK that don’t take the long way around ?

The cabin isn’t being made for the bloggers or vloggers, and I’m sure QF know what they’re doing.

I would disagree with that. From the Qantas website, they compare the first-class suite as "boutique accommodation" which delivers "the ultimate in luxury"

Qantas spinning something to be more than it actually is? Unheard of
