Qantas A330-200 cabin refurbishments

So it looks like I'm on EBS next week - according to the QF App "Oboard Experience"

and the seat selection currently matches:

So as a Gold, all the Economy Plus seats show blocked, EXCEPT in row 33 - any idea why?? Are they just all taken already, or is row 33 missing something?

When the other Economy Plus seats open up for Gold members at T-24, would it still be $60 to choose a Plus seat?

TBH, I'm more concerned about a shadow/empty seat next to me, or the J upgrade (which today at J2 C2 D2 looks unlikely), but thought to pose the question.

Given WP has to pay for upfront Y+ I doubt SG will get anything for free under the new regime other than standard.

Row 33A/B/J/K in that configuration IS economy plus (row 34 is not).

Because of the possibility of substitution, Qantas are only currently selling these as "forward".

You need to ask yourself, is 34" pitch better than 31" and the chance of an empty seat beside you.

Y+ (not Premium Economy) is free for Platinum, and seemingly free for me if I wait a few days - but seemed strange I can only pick Row 33 and/or that every other row has been sold and taken by WPs.

I'd definitely prefer the empty seat! Every day of the week.

My post was the Y+ was not free for upfront seating, if you look at the page link post the devil is in the detail :
