Has anyone had recent experience successfully retrospectively applying for an offset with points and:
1. Actually had the points deducted, and
2. Received a leaf?

A few weeks ago I had tried to add an offset to a future SYD-MEL flight. I think it was something like 190pts. I had very low expectations that it would register but thought I should get one in the system and maybe race to do one last GT in my new member year.

Anyway, the points still haven’t been deducted. There was no email acknowledging the request but it does show in MMB that it was requested.

The flight’s next month.

I actually just booked a flex movie ticket the other day and now realise that i forgot to take the offset option at the time! That was always more deterministic…dang!

I had one successfully processed in May. Received the email and points were deducted quickly, and the leaf received maybe a day later.

Was that adding an offset after booking or at the time of booking?

I’ve never had a problem paying cash for an offset at the same time as the primary booking.

Adding after booking. Booking was made during DSC offer in Feb, and added the offset in May, for flights from ADL-MEL in November.

Ok. It’s possible that a linkage to QBR is causing some funny business.

Ah, that possibly also explains why I forgot to add an offset to a recent booking. It doesn’t get offered via the QBR portal? Oh well.

Possibly. I don’t have QBR. Would be interesting to get some more data points.

I have the opportunity to get my last green tier lief with a hotel stay on November 23, which is 2 weeks before the program closes. Do you think if I do this, it would credit in this time? I see upthread, sometimes it takes 8 weeks? If it did take 8 weeks, would they backdate then offer me the 50SC Green Tier bonus or will it be too late by then?

If it's Ovolo Melbourne then I would say yes as my leaf was credited within 3 days of check out.
