WCMO are these glass water bottles with metal pull caps provided to guests at Grand Hyatt SIN - I just do not get it.

Rip the pull cap off the top and then you have an opened unspeakable bottle of water from then on

With the ring pull ones we had in Thailand @Cruiser Elite , the cap can be placed back on top - I only figured it out after 2 weeks

A number of charities have missed out on my donation when clicking the donate button takes you to site that charges a fee.

RFDS has been touting for donations at our local shopping centre. The only way to donate is by a recurring charge to your credit card. They certainly don’t accept cash. And not even a one-off credit card donation. Over the past couple of years I’ve noticed many charities being like that. I don’t want to make a permanent regular donation like that. I’m happy to make one-offs that don’t commit me any further. So quite a few charities have lost my donations because of that. Plus the inevitable credit card surcharges they add to every donation.

They work on a commission based structure. When they get to a certain level if they have the ability they are encouraged to start their own pyramid of workers. This splinter pyramid then pays a % to the original pyramid, etc. etc.

Why on earth would they want his date of birth? They already have most of his details, email, phone number, name. He refused and hung up.

Unfortunately a lot of charities have to use marketing companies these days. Last week I preferred to purchase some hand made goods, buy some raffle tickets and give a cash donation on the spot to our local cancer carers group, at their local store.

I’ve recently made a couple of clothes and toiletries donations to the Hutt Street Centre in Adelaide which is for the homeless and every time they ask me would I like to come in and they will give me a thank you letter. I just say no thank you. You don’t need to waste your time. I know they just want my phone number and email address.
