Latitude 28 Degrees $8 per month starting September 2024

So I've called them. Spend tracker should be in Accounts, between the row of 'Pay my card .... Statements ... Manage... ' and the list of transactions. If you go to the app store and look at the previews, its shown on the second panel.

I deleted and re-downloaded the app - nada. That's really flummoxed the guy - he knew about the Spend Tracker and e=was confident of the location (per the app store picture).

Currently on hold ...

They've raised a ticket with the IT team. 3-5 days to investigate. We'll see!!

Can anyone see the Spend Tracker?
I can't see it either and I also updated the app.

I never got the fee waiver, even tho I asked....

Updated and checked, still no spend tracker either :S… And I just noticed there’s an $8 monthly fee charged this month, even though I haven’t used the card for a couple of months.

I am a bit confused! What is this annual fee?

Notwithstanding any Waivers, my 28° card has an $8 per month fee. If I spend $1000 or more in a statement period, that $8 is waived (and I get a $10 credit which I used on gift cards).

OK, found it see below.

I think annual fee = monthly fee? It shows the annual fee as $96, which works out same same as monthly.

OK, found it - since June last year for new accounts the $8 monthly fee has been replaced by a $96 annual fee with the first year being waived.

With this newer version of the product, those who spend $12000 or more will have the fee waived for the subsequent year.

Makes sense then in that context. Those on monthly or grand fathered free accounts wouldn’t expect to have the tracker.

I've just had it out with Latitude customer service. No, I didn't show them this thread and no, I didn't say anything about this forum. I didn't out anyone or anything to Latitude. I'm not a moron. I took the info and presented it all independently as if I had found it all myself.

Obviously, to anyone with a brain and primary school maths skills, 12 x $8 is the same thing as a $96 annual fee. Needless to say, Latitiude do not see this the same way.

Latitude do not consider that accounts getting charged $8/month have an annual fee. The spend tracker is only visible in the phone apps of accounts that have an annual fee. In Latitude-world, an annual fee is only a one-off annual charge of $96, not 12 x $8 fees charged per month. If you are getting charged monthly $8, then no Spend Tracker for you. If you are being charged the one-off $96 annual fee, then you get the Spend Tracker.

Actually, the changes would have worked better for me. Some months I have spent nothing in the card, other months, a couple of thousand. My spend may be around that 12k P.A.

So I guess they introduced the annual fee so as not to have another variant of the $8 monthly fee, waived or not.

Are you currently paying the annual fee?

No fees at all.

The guy I spoke to at Latitude was adamant that the Spend Tracker should show up for everyone ( per the App Store description!) and he went away and checked, but it makes sense that it only only applies to those with an actual annual fee.

I suspect there’s a bit of tinkering in the background regarding the visibility of it or not.

I get what you mean most definitely, but in a purely mathematical sense, the $8/mo fee is the better one to be on because after you’ve jumped through that flaming hoop five times, you can redeem a $50 gift card for having spent $40 in monthly fees, so mathematically speaking, you’re $10 ahead.

After a year, you're $24 ahead on the $8/mo fee. On the annual fee waiver bizzo, I don't think you get the points scheme, so all you get is the fee waived, so you're just evens with how the fee-free card used to be before the wide spread enshitification of everything started.

Yeah - I prefer the monthly version. I've been spending the $10 giftcards at Amazon. Only last month I missed out - I did spend more than the $1k, but I had some purchases refunded, so that bought my 'spend' under the $1k... I did contact Latitude, but a no going on getting the reward.

Actually, the $10 credit towards gift cards etc. still exists. Also there is an additional $10 credit if at least $1k of the monthly spend is on foreign currency transactions.
Double your Latitude Rewards

New customers earn an extra $10 in Rewards, when they spend the equivalent of AUD $1,000 per month on international purchases ...

I love my present set up with no monthly fee and 10 bucks a month for spending $1000.

I spread my spend around my cards, first meeting the maximum points earning etc. hurdle and then wherever.

Oh, so that’s where that comes from. I was wondering about the additional money that popped up occasionally.
