I know we have some members who already have QFF LTP including some who have posted on the existing LTG thread.

Anyone else already made LTP, or working towards it ?
If you are already what are the benefits that you have noticed?

I’ll start off discussion by saying no I’m not yet LTP but I plan on getting there within the next few years.
Briefly thought of moving to BA as their LTG /OWE seemed more achievable but I never did fully move there and continuing to chip away at the 75K and currently over 80% of the way there.

My mum is there and has 90k lifetime status credits. There has been no recognition or benefits since she got there other than the welcome pack. We already have access to the VIP team but even the quality of that has greatly diminished in the last year.

We probably would be there now but we switched to flying on SQ because their product is superior. Now we have QF running old 737s out of Perth at high prices so often we go on VA. We should be LTP just before my 200th birthday.

If you’re a P1 then there’s zero difference. But the welcome pack was nice. If you’re just Platinum then the main benefits are access to VIP team and ability to change domestic flights for free on the day of departure.

I know how you feel @cove. I estimate I will be there around my 90th birthday if I maintain my typical earning each year.

Am working towards it. About 3 years away at my regular earn rates; maybe sooner if I can make some double status credit promotions work for me.

I thought long and hard about whether to switch to "best fare of the day" once I retired, but LTP status is just too tempting.

I'm LTP and fallen back to WP after years of P1. Not treated any differently to other WPs as far as I can tell. Was denied fly forward request on a domestic flight last month which had available seats.

I would probably try for P1 sometimes and push for LTP if the target was 28,000-35,000 SC, but at 75,000 it’s ridiculous for a traveller almost entirely doing it from self-funded leisure trips.

Still working towards LTG and WP some of the time is good enough for me.

Judging by the amount of people here saying they've made LTP or are close, Qantas are probably thinking theyve set the bar appropriately.

I think the numbers are pretty light, in the overall scheme of things!

I think I will beat you to it - I am estimating reaching LTP when I am 195 at current rate of progress. I did make many business trips in J from Sydney to Manila on SQ in the early 2000s because QF only flew to Manila on 3 or 4 days a week. Had those trips been made on Qantas I guess I would now be forecasting sometime in my 180s..

I am LTG and that will have to suffice for the next 100+ years.

One would hope that LTP would have a PCV at the upper end for WP to have a better chance of upgrades etc., but only people who work at QF would know if they do that or not.

That’s a good question if it is a factor - AFAIK, it’s mainly spend based?

There was a period when SYD+1 had spent a couple of grand more than me and could see better whY seat availability on domestic hops if travelling on seperate tix - despite both being WP. That was just before COVID and appears to have dropped off - so I’m guessing there’s a ~5yr rolling average for PCV?

If LTP does bestow something, then good on those who get there. I’ll be about 99 based on current earn.
