The Master SQ Guide (Krisflyer, Waitlists & Waitlists Clearing)

Just making another booking for 2ppl in Jan 27,
I usually look at 1 adult first as in the past ive had availability go to none as soon as select 2 ppl when I can book separately

the flights in question, there is some that are showing available for 2ppl and about double for 1ppl

I call up to check to see actually how many availble, and the ones showing for 1ppl, is actually 1 ppl

Operator then suggests, since its so far ahead, recommend to book 1 ticket and then wait until SIA release more

Kind of think thats pretty irresponsible , especially if they dont release or wait lists not clearing
If suggest that's the smart play, book 1 ticket if only available. Five it many times myself when needing 2.
Not much damage cancelling a reward ticket if need be.

i have expiring miles to deal with so it doesnt fit my best interests, to just wait and hope

I guess for others, thats the point of a wait list.

Q: if you waitlisted it, and SIA decided to release more, wouldnt you get first prioirty?

What's with the zero saver awards being released on the Singapore > Perth route? Even Singapore to Sydney and Melbourne have saver awards being released for Feb 2027.

On some days I am seeing them booked within 2 minutes of release. I was booking a flight and went to pay and it flicked to another screen and said added to waitlist. The booking was completed by someone else within the time I had selected the passengers. I had even skipped the seat selection.

What I did find, some snapped up first thing in the morning and some showing up later in the day when the EU flights came online due to time zones.

Unsure if im just lucky, but in the last 48 hours

have booked

2x MELB to KIX in Jan 27 (J SAVER) (Plenty of availabilty in Jan/Feb)
1x Melb to Sth Korea Jan 27 (J SAVER) (Plenty of availabilty in Jan/Feb)
1x Melb to Singapore Oct 26 (J SAVER)
all one way

Melb to Singapore F was totally unavailable for the next year ie wasnt even showing up

I thought all seats were released at 11AM AEST ? Except for USA ?

So did I, just from my experience recently I saw the bulk of AU <> SIN open up 10am EST then more in the afternoon for the previous day. As I tried to book flights in the morning, missed out as I said about and waitlisted a few. Later that day other flights showed up like it was a second wave. It wasn't just that day as I checked the next day to see if it was just cancellations or something but I saw the same thing happen again.

Probably easier to just remember 0800 SIN (or WA) time all year. (I've no idea what time they release the US seats.)

One of the reasons Saver awards are so rare on many routes is due to the fact that SQ does give preference to PPS members. Even then, many have gone within an hour of the seats being released. There are so many PPS members, particularly in Singapore.
