Hi,
I am a sole trader health professional. I have my own ABN and am registered with Qantas business rewards. I signed up at the beginning of 2025. I admit I don't log into my business account regularly.
I was surprised to find when I logged in that I have received Qantas points everything except my Qantas flights! The points I have accumulated are from hotels, car hire, BP account, carbon offsets and even wine. All my business flights appear in my QBR trip list but alas the grand total of points awarded for all of them is 0.

Should I just call Qantas about this or does anyone have any insights to what might be going on?
Thanks

Were your flights booked via the QBR portal? If you just booked via regular Qantas site you'd only get regular points and not extra QBR points.

Flights don’t need to be booked on the QBR portal, they can be booked on QF or by a TA - if your ABN is added you get points
My bookings have been a mixture of both, agent and direct. When booked direct my ABN has been included in the booking. With the agent I add the ABN as soon as I link the flight, always prior to travel.
Same result regardless

You should contact QF to claim the missing points if your ABN was associated with the bookings.

You’ll probably have to email them with a list of all the flights. All those flights count towards your QBR Tier (as do QF Hotels and Car Hire).

You’re probably also missing out on 250 pts (no, not huge but still) per booking to your personal QFF account.

Ok, thanks.
Good point on the 250 extra pts! I otherwise wouldn't have thought to ask about this.
I'll post with how I go. I can never quite tell how a phone call with Qantas will turn out.............

You need to call the QBR number. They answer pretty quickly but not necessarily the most competent.

You’ll want to have a complete list of trips (by PNR) in front of you.

Email might be easier as a first start.

But asking someone why no flights are posting is worth speaking to a human.

You can do retro claims in the QBR portal. If successful they post pretty quick.
If not successful, it's talk to them...

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try this some months ago for a couple of flights I knew I booked direct through QBR but never heard anything back. When I looked today still no points for those flights.

Glad to hear that normally this system does in fact work. I will give them a buzz. Obviously there is something not right

To earn Qantas Points on flights, your business must be GST-registered or an incorporated entity (Pty Ltd). Many health professionals operating as sole traders are not GST-registered because their services are GST-free. While Qantas allows you to join and earn with partners (Wine, BP, Hotels) without GST registration, the flight-earning benefit is restricted.

1. Check your ABN status on the ABR. If you aren't GST-registered, the points will unfortunately remain at zero for flights.
2. If you are GST-registered, check your Fare Class. Deeply discounted "Sale" fares (O, Q, E) sometimes offer the traveler points but yield 0 for the business at Level 1.

If you meet the GST criteria, don't just call; email the QBR Missing Points team with your ABN and the PNRs. They are generally much more efficient at "back-crediting" these in bulk than the phone agents.

Doesn't need to be a company. Just needs to be ABN and GST registered. Once you've registered for business rewards just add to your ABN to your booking.

Sound advice on the general eligibility but as far as I’m aware so long as the flyer earns points for a QF flight, the business earns X% pts as per the QBR Tier.

That could be it. While the rule around being GST registered has changed, if one registered in 2025 they would be subject to that restriction.
