I have a booking on SQ later this month and received an email today offering up to 2GB of complimentary data for "3 [Calendar] Days":

Dear Mr serfty,

COMPLIMENTARY ESIM
FOR YOUR UPCOMING TRIP

As a KrisFlyer member, we're pleased to offer you a complimentary Global Data eSIM1 for your upcoming travel on Singapore Airlines.

Click on the button below for the promo code and instructions on how to redeem.

We wish you a pleasant trip ahead!

1Global eSIM has 3 days validity from the selected date of activation. Powered by Pelago, the travel experiences arm of Singapore Airlines.
There's a link in the email advising how to redeem by the end of this month.

I recently redeemed two. One seems to have worked the other hasn’t…

Coincidently, I received an email from Trip.com offering 100% off eSIMs. In reality, up to $5 off. But that still’s enough to get a few gigs for a couple of days.

Starts in a few minutes - promo in app. See if I can find one for India while I’m here and save my Eskimo for later.

Haven't heard of Frewie before but seem to be Singapore based.
Probably. A lot are.

I’m using one now after scratching my head a few moments ago. It connected to the network in India but no data. I immediately assumed it was an incorrect APN but of course I just hadn’t turned On “Roaming”….😔

I managed to get the 2nd one working by manually entering the SIM ID.

Although, it was supposed to be 3 days and was dead this morning - so possibly 3 calendar days not 3x 24 hrs periods from activation…😔

Meanwhile, the app is showing a bunch of 1GB for $1 promos at the moment. Just bought another 1GB/7D plan for India.

There’s also a new sign up voucher for 50% off up to $5. You can use it towards the $1 purchase and get it for $0.50…

Annoying thing, they say they reuse the eSIM but each plan comes with a new eSIM…

Frewie has a bunch of in-app $1 promos on at the moment. I’ve been using some freebie Frewie eSIMs from SQ / Pelago and notice the offer.

Just bought India 1GB/7D for US$1.

New sign ups (via the app) also get a 50% off coupon.

Did you use the top up option instead and input your existing eSIM?
Not that time since I could only see the $1 promo plans on the main page. You’d think the app was smart enough to auto link but - No.

Anyway, going via “Top Up” it still didn’t default to another India country plan….Applying some filters, I could find the $1 India plan I bought. But TBH, I’m not confident it would stick to the existing SIM anyway…

Edit: the app is now showing “Buy Again” for the India plan. I’ll try that if I need a top up.

So I bought a further India 1GB/7D plan for US$1 after I used up the data on the first.

Email confirmed no install required - it’ll use the existing eSIM.

The eSIM started working again for data but the app was all over the shop. Didn’t show the new planner all. Refreshed several times and eventually it showed under “My eSIM” but “Not in Use” and a button to install (which failed trying to go there).

Anyway, the app sees to caught up overnight.

The app is cough but for US$1 p/GB I’ll survive.
