My partner and I have ETAs for Canada but our flight into Vancouver was cancelled and we will now be arriving a day later on a different flight number and with a different airline.

Wondering if the current ETAs still work ok, or should we apply for new ones with the new flight information? I'm not sure if it's even possible to apply again but I just don't want to arrive at the airport and get told that it's not valid because its not marrying up or communicating with the airline etc

Closest answer I could find in short order: (note than an eTA is valid for 5 years or until passport expiry, whichever is first).

I take this to mean that as long as you still meet the criteria, once approved you're good to go. (so to speak)

ETA isn't the same as arrival information. It's more like a simple electronic registration which once you complete and they approve will be valid for quite a few years.

You'll complete a separate arrival form (probably at the arrival airport) on the day you get there. There won't be any problems.

Thanks guys, good points.

Was just stressing out a bit and not thinking clear. So frustrating when airlines pull this cough at the last second!

ETAs are like ESTA's or the upcoming EU system and new UK system. They are valid for any travel, which doesn't require a visa, for a given period of time/passport expiry. They aren't arrival cards.
These systems don't require incoming flight or hotel details, the arrival cards do. You can use the ETA for as many trips to Canada as you like within the period of validity (subject to other possible limits such as x days in Canada in y period).

If you did a digital arrivals card prior to departure (such as for Singapore or Japan) and flight details changed, you'd need to update the digital arrival card. That isn't needed for ETA.
