ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

Some updates on my end. My membership was converted over to the new program yesterday. The good news is I did get the additional 10 days on top of the 20 nights I got when I renewed at the end of August. However, I didn’t get 14 months as promised as the expiry is September 30, 2026 not October 30, 2026 nor did I receive the 2,000 bonus points as promised in the email either.

Looks like I’ll need to chase Accor down for those items.

Looks like I'll end the year with a maximum of 54 status nights and about 12,000 status points (that's factoring in 3000 points for Oct-Dec from a Signature subscription which, sadly, I only took out in June).

So near and yet so far! Will have to be content with Gold for another year.

do anyone know why my platinum status shows ended in 31/12/2025 ?
is this normal? I got the platinum status this year, the SNU is until 31/12/2026

Given that Accor + Explorer is an Asia Pacific thing, and that every A+ member will now be ALL Gold (or higher), is it fair to say that ALL Gold will be of slightly more value outside Asia Pacific than within Asia Pacific? I mean, as ALL Gold I can't see myself getting upgrades any more, unless I'm travelling at the off-peakiest of off-peak times.

But maybe my chances are just a tiny bit better in Europe?

It depends on the country and hotel you travel to. For example China can get you loads of upgrades. Or a country like Malaysia.

I'd also say that A+ membership doesn't necessarily mean all the members travel a lot since oftentimes you can make back the cost with just a well used stay night and the rest of the benefits (dining) was gravy.

Apologies if I've missed it - I am sitting on ~45 status nights and ~10,000 points but my platinum status has been extended until the end of 2026. Why? I was going to reach the target anyway but curious if the nights/points requirement has dropped or if it is a gremlin with the new system

Yes, status will be assessed again at the end of the year

More so in China given they have exclusive elevated benefits such as free breakfast for gold :

10% off member price (accommodation discount), 15% discount on food and beverages (restaurant and bar), free breakfast* for 1 person, exclusive breakfast area, stay on elite member floor, valid for hotel deduction from 200 pointsfor Accommodation Consumption

They've moved status assessments to the calendar year. As part of the transition, they appear to have extended the status from the membership date to the end of next year.

Probably not. Europe has poor status recognition - even in France, believe it or not. As a Plat I got hardly any upgrades in about 15 places I stayed at in the past year.

A quick look at experiences in threads such as on FT suggests that’s not the case eg https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/acc...all-elite-experiences-2025-master-thread.html

With all the plats and diamonds in recent times I would imagine hotels are often faced with many to upgrade and not many rooms available, and a recent shift to Amadeus gives them access to Process Customer Value (PCV) ranking tools , such as ranking same region travellers higher than blow ins from down under when it comes to travel patterns and likely repeat business.

Fine, but I don’t need FlyerTalk. I just need my own extensive experience and other experiences noted here on AFF.

And as I believe @Human is an Australian traveller, my comments are appropriate to him as a fellow so-called blow-in from the south.

I’ll ask the Accor rep here at Sofite if there is any adverse categorisation that you mentioned.

Yep, I’ve had plenty of “upgrades” - even if it’s just a better floor/location as Accor Gold but not uncommon to get at least one room category upgrade - IME over a good 10yrs.

It might be harder at mid / high end places with more corp travellers and higher amount of status peeps. Time of year, time of week and all sorts of things are at play in Europe.

Same here as A+WP -I usually get an upgrade without having to ask.
A+ WP too. I usually get better upgrades on shorter stays (1–3 nights), and less often when staying more than 5 nights, though there are still occasional surprises. I also agree that I see more upgrades in Asia Pacific compared to Europe.
