Credit Card Offers ANZ Frequent Flyer Black: 130,000 Qantas Points + $200 back

Decided to churn my NAB Qantas Rewards Signature Card after 18 months, before the next annual fee.
I applied for the ANZ Frequent Flyer Black CC at 2pm yesterday.
As a retired chap, I only uploaded my Superannuation statement and Bank statement showing my Term Deposit balance.
I received approval SMS & email at 7pm this evening.
Online Identity verification consisted of Passport and Medicare numbers only, no photographic evidence. Verified within 1 minute of entering details.
Contrary to the experience of other members I surprisingly received approval SMS & email 7pm this evening, 29 hours from application.

Anyone applied for this recently? Appalling customer experience for me, but what's new with ANZ. Most recently, I have received 7 duplicate document request emails within the space of 15 minutes. When I called them up to query this, they told me they had all the docs required, and said they will process the application on the phone and let me know. Then decided they would call me back in 15-20 minutes. That was yesterday, and I haven't heard since. I did however receive another 3 duplicate document request emails again overnight. So frustrating.

Same happened to me. I asked and was told everytime you get a request means that someone has touched the application. That may include forwarding an email!

The good thing is their system is so bad with communication that I got my annual fee back in full when I cancelled early. All I did was ask for an annual fee refund as I did not use the whole year.
Yes I still got my bonus points aswell.

All good in the end. Called them up today, they blamed a "technical error" for not processing the application. Confirmed some expenses with the agent, and after a few minutes all approved. Unfortunately the online ID verification failed (it has the wrong address listed despite the agent confirming my current residential address over the phone), so its off to the bank for me tomorrow.

Same here... applied yesterday and got approved today after submitting pay slip yesterday.
P2 had the same experience in January!

Anyone else applied for this recently and still awaiting the bonus points?
I applied late Feb and met my min. spending in March, but still waiting for my points to land.

My first time having anything to do with ANZ. I'd read online that this one was quite difficult to be approved compared to other banks but after applying on Saturday and submitting documents requested right away I was approved today. Hopefully they can send the card out quickly.

I'm getting braces early next month so that'll help me hit that $5k spend right away.

Ditto here. Applied Sat and uploaded payslips at the end of application. Received SMS and email Tues pm advising approval :)

Just don't put any transactions on the card that may need to be refunded if you intend to cancel the card at some point. ANZ are a nightmare to deal with in this scenario.

100% spot on with this.

I would go so far that if they don't acknowledge the refund straight away then go straight to AFCA. That is what I did. ANZ are fraudsters. Even when you get your money once AFCA is involved they don't say it is a refund. It is a goodwill payment with no admission of liability. They can go an get f*cked.

I've never had to deal with any bank in this scenario. Is it potentially easier if you have a checking account still open with them or do other banks handle this better somehow?

Just had my second year fee hit the account, do the bonus points come through the following statement?
And now disappointed the QF lounge passes are once each 12 months, instead of each "ANZ membership" year :( Not sure I'll keep it open until next June - should have redeemed sooner :|
