And whether IHG has a replacement in the wings
Given they already have another IC in SIN they may not see the need, the Regent was not replaced. I would suggest IHG see the HIX brand as their future growth in the city given the crowded upscale market.

Just saw the below from Loyalty Lobby.

I know this hotel was a favourite of quite a few here, particularly @drron so it’s sad to see it go. Will be interested to see what it rebrands into.
And I have 4 nights booked from 8/1/26.
The IC Robertson Quay is not in a great position.
So back to the drawing board.

Wow- what a shame a terrific hotel is going to get rebranded. Hopefully to something just as nice.

Some background here, and also a suggestion Marriott is on the shortlist.

What level/brand of Marriott will be interesting if it pans out that way. Literally a stones throw from the JW, and if I'm not mistaken every other luxury and premium Marriott brand is already represented in the city.

Interesting one of the articles that suggests it's due to under performance.

I wonder if this is more a Singapore specific thing, and given the $s Involved for the upper premium brands people are doing more detailed research, and older properties outside the core tourist hotspots struggle, whatever the brand.

and if I'm not mistaken every other luxury and premium Marriott brand is already represented in the city.
If you look at Marriott’s own brand classifications, of the luxury/premium brands the Le Meridien seems most conspicuous of those that are absent from Singapore, then Delta and Renaissance and some more niche brands

I had decided I would probably use the JW Marriott instead of the IC next January so will be intersting to see what the IC becomes an the pricing.
That or hope for another Fairmont Gold package from LE if it comes up.
