New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

What a turnaround. Maybe the reasons they mentioned in the email response about needing a sustainable scheme were outweighed by the backlash?

I take it the only way to apply dsc to an already made booking is cancel and rebook? Don’t particularly care about pricing since this is corporate travel.

You need a new PNR. There is a way to create a new PNR and move an existing ticket to it, but it requires a wizard TA and depends on your ticket.

It is probably easier to cancel and rebook.

Nice! On the back of this u-turn, I'll make some bookings that I'd otherwise decided didn't need to be made in haste.

Well done all for holding the line.

Agreed and thanks for clarifying.

Apologies @burneracc, I was assuming you'd booked something during the DSC promo period but I should have been clearer in my response. If your booking pre-dates the DSC promo, then @justinbrett is on right the money.

TY, although not what I wanted to hear 😭

Will see if I can wrangle it, but since there's a hotel booking attached to my travel itinerary that I don't want to cancel, worst case I might have to fly without DSC on that trip :(

Offer has been changed. Does now count towards lifetime status.

Color me astonished but very pleased at this reversal.
Hooray for common sense! Many thanks for finding that @Princess Fiona

I might have to increase my interest level then and see what I can find to book - I need about 4000 more SC's to get LTG. Not DSC related but I might try to get onto some of those cheap fares in Europe next year where SC's are about $2 per SC.

or in Adelaide
And it's been damp in Melbourne.

Let's just say the sun's shining metaphorically. :)

Just got to have Qantas see the error of its ways on non-lifetime status of the loyalty SCs now...

Wow, that’s great news! Quite the U-turn though. Makes you wonder what kind of boardroom drama went down upstairs.
Or the QF IT kids on work experience found it too hard to program? Given other DSC's did go to the life time count.
The same same with loyalty gift as post 258 by Princess Fiona ?

For me inching towards LTG this makes a difference. More inclined to book a few select AU<-->NZ business class (sale) flights to give the life time count a boost. Will requalify for gold with planned-booked flights (before this DSC)

Very thankful for the back-flip; so I've registered and will look to make a banker booking at least.

Has anyone looked at the T&Cs in detail yet to determine whether there is any "jiggery-pokery" language to suggest that we're dealing with anything other than the original theatrical release of "Fight Club"*?

* I can't believe that this is the first mention of Fight Club in 14 pages of this particular thread?!?! 🤣

My thoughts exactly.

It s good news. The last thing Qantas wants is disengaged frequent flyer. Only a few years away from a critical change with project sunrise, Qantas needs to set itself up for success on this one.

I'm far away from LTG or even LTS.
Even though QF reversed decision for whatever reasons, I have the feeling this is the last DSC promotion will count towards lifetime status.
