Offer has been changed. Does now count towards lifetime status.

Color me astonished but very pleased at this reversal.

Wow, that’s great news! Quite the U-turn though. Makes you wonder what kind of boardroom drama went down upstairs.
Maybe sales weren't as good as expected.

Mind you, for a loyalty scheme to piss off those people who aspire to be its most loyal customers takes a special kind of hubris. That's our Qantas!

You can just imagine the chatter around the QF Loyalty office in the last 24 hours as feedback started to roll in... :D

I take it the only way to apply dsc to an already made booking is cancel and rebook? Don’t particularly care about pricing since this is corporate travel.

I have been told that is also counting towards lifetime status now.

They're auto-including bookings that have already been made during the promo period but prior to the backtrack announcement.

What a turnaround. Maybe the reasons they mentioned in the email response about needing a sustainable scheme were outweighed by the backlash?

You need a new PNR. There is a way to create a new PNR and move an existing ticket to it, but it requires a wizard TA and depends on your ticket.

It is probably easier to cancel and rebook.

Agreed and thanks for clarifying.

Apologies @burneracc, I was assuming you'd booked something during the DSC promo period but I should have been clearer in my response. If your booking pre-dates the DSC promo, then @justinbrett is on right the money.

TY, although not what I wanted to hear 😭

Will see if I can wrangle it, but since there's a hotel booking attached to my travel itinerary that I don't want to cancel, worst case I might have to fly without DSC on that trip :(
