Cruise etiquette
I'm going on an AMA Rhine cruise with my Mum in a few weeks.

Do I need to dress up for dinner?

I'm thinking maybe linen trousers ... but was hoping to keep my luggage minimal (that is, single suitcase) as I'll be carting it by train from Berlin-Essen, Essen-Brussels (with 2 train changes) and then Brussels-Amsterdam ... oh, and from the cruise to Basel Hbf and then on to Zurich and the airport.
River cruises are pretty informal. You might have a "Captain's Dinner" one night which might be slightly dressier then the other nights, but it's still a lot less formal than some ocean cruises.

Thank you.

My only cruise thus far (as I don’t count the ferry from Oslo to Cooenhagen!!) was a 6 night Disney cruise, so the dress standards were much more do what you want and formal meant wearing your sequinned Mickey/Minnie ears!! 🤣

We did a Scenic river cruise in April this year and very much enjoyed the experience. Very, very few dressed up on our cruise for dinner. Most people stayed in their "day" clothes for a predinner drink, then went and showered and freshened up with clean shirt etc and linen pants. Some pax just traversed from bar to restaurant without the change. It was very relaxed. The 2 couples that dressed up were English (I think) and seemed to enjoy glamming up a bit.

What's a good site to explore cruises in particular regions?
Good question!

I usually look at the individual cruise line websites but they’re not as user friendly as you’d expect. Can be quite clunky and probably pushing stuff that hasn’t sold.

I’m not aware of Google “Cruises” or an ITA Matrix equivalent! 🤔

As I was typing, I did a quick Google search and some suggest CruiseCritic (TBH, I’d just assumed that was more of a review site!) but others say that CruisePlum is the way to go. Never heard of it before but might be what you seek!

Cruise critic is mostly just another forum which several of us here are on.

CC is a marketing org and does have a searchable database, but I don't know of any cruise search data base that does not have an agenda.
I interrogate google but please share the cruise nirvana if you find one @RooFlyer...☺️

Perhaps?

Have tried that but the website is infuriating and not all cruise lines showed up for me.

Having a site that does what @RooFlyer has asked for would be a great idea. I was trying to do the same just a month ago and could only seem to use google.

One of the Hosts has obviously taken a dislike for me and I continue to get into trouble for my humour posts. After the third warning an automatic 5 day holiday. So I decided we will see what an oaf this fellow is. He often posts Anti trump humour so I posted as well an anti trump joke. Got my 4th warning and 10 days off. I the posted a bit of humour from AFF. It was a newer version of this one-
The simpleton’s car broke down and the garageman arrived
to take a look at it.
“Oh yeah, cough in the carburettor,” said the mechanic.
“Really, how often will I have to do that?” he replied.
And that was my 5th warning for being vulgar and 2 weeks off plus I have to apologise for my behaviour. Needless to say Bon Voyage CC.

One of the things I did when our cruise from Mumbai to Capetown with a couple of stops in Madagascar was cancelled I looked up the cruise schedules for the ports in Madagascar. Madagascar was what i really wanted. Found that Crystal stopped several times from November to April so signed up for Mumbai to Mombasa this coming January. As a bonus 3 stops in Madagascar.

What's the issue with Madagascar?
