QANTAS Cyber Incident

Finally got the email in last few minutes:

Luckily no DOB for me BUT i would like to know which specific addresses have been leaked - was it a home address, address I had luggage delivered to when AA lost it (that was a friends home) or my PO box or former employers address for when they used to book flights for me?

For things that can change like Address, email address and phone number Qantas should tell us what the value leaked was; if its already out of date we need be less worried.

And Id like to know if its full name or just first name, middle initial, last name (my first and last are very common, but my middle name is very rare). And I have made sure to amend my middle initial to full middle name on international bookings no there is no issue matching to passport in places where they are super fussy.
The website FAQ was updated on Wednesday to say this ability is supposed to be coming by the end of the week (today?)

QANTAS Cyber Incident

To provide our Qantas Frequent Flyers with further visibility, you will be able to view the types of your data that were held on the compromised system once you are logged into your account. We expect this capability will be available from later this week.

Typical of qantas, all about PR above everything else. Based on the responses here, it is very obvious that they withheld the emails to the worst affected people.
Same with everyone else who received emails this morning, got pretty much the whole lot.

For those with address(es) leaked, the website has been updated with the following relevant excerpts -:

I’m concerned as my address has been confirmed as one of the types of data that has been compromised. Is there anything I need to do?
As Qantas works through its incident response, it has determined that there are a number of address fields that were held in the system that was compromised.

We can confirm outside of some residential and business addresses, including hotels for baggage services, there are a number of these fields that are invalid.

Not all are full addresses, some are postcode only, and some are a number of years old, for example. However, we have decided to notify everyone that had a potential address field populated in an effort to be transparent as possible.

Same - not happy at all - they are clearly sending the worst out now. I have registered with Experian and the other 2 to block credit reporting.
Qantas need to change the FF nos. at the very least.
They're probably having fun dealing with the CL members.

Finally received my email from Qantas with nine different points of data accessed. Unlike getting a new credit card or drivers licence it is much harder to get a new address, date of birth and name.

Did they say by when all affected customers would be notified? nothing received by me yet, following the first two emails.

Very sad/angry about this.

Has anyone called and asked what address, email address and phone number was in the data? We've moved in the last six months and I use a couple of email addresses and phone numbers

Yes just got the email, with the full bingo card.
I knew when I hadn't received the earlier emails that my family got, that my leak was one of the worst ones.
These are serious personal details.

Looks like QF sent out a raft of emails this morning. Got my confirmation too.
Do I get to yell BINGO now, or did I (they) miss anything?
