Can I use my membership and status to make a room booking for a family member?
I won't be staying with them.

Accor is the main chain where I wouldn’t, unless you have explicitly checked in advance.
They can be real cough about no benefits until the member turns up, even if you lie and say they are coming soon.

My wife is going on a girl’s weekend trip to Gold Coast and I could use the status nights.
Also the Accor plus discount is pretty handy.
