All the connections have to be totally separate right up to the service provider's point of connection. Not shared anywhere with a neighbour. Even invisibly.

Developers these days, due to cost, usually don't do that. But if it is done that way, it becomes like an inner city terrace house.
They are, we have our own gas metre, water metre etc. it was one of the selling points for this property that it was freestanding.

I edited my post. From the meter is not enough! It's got to be from where the services are connected to the actual service provider.

In townhouses, town home, villa subdivisions etc, many services can be common property up to the lot's meter.

Not an assumption, I assure you.

OK! But stratas in VIC have nothing too much do so with separate metering, gaps or even free standing.

All of those types of developments can end up being stratas in VIC, very commonly. It's essentially got to be totally separate in all ways not to be.

It will, however end up with what the Tiles Office decides when the final Plan of Subdivision is approved. And that, IME, doesn't even happen until close to settlement.

If your contract is clear on the issue, you should be fine!
