Why can't you appeal it just because Hertz added an Admin Fee?Not MY mistake but it seems the hotel didnt attach my hire cars rego to the booking.
The Parking Lot Police gave me a 100pound fine for staying in a 99pound hotel!
Then Hertz kindly paid it for me and added on a 42 pound "admin" fee which means I cant appeal it.
I have fired off a cranky email saying why the hell would I sleep 16 hours in a coughpy little vauxhall car with my 80 year old mother, parked outside a hotel, instead of INSIDE the hotel I have already paid for???
To top it off the car park was not even remotely full.

Again.. that's not quite how it works in the UK. Often, parking is outsourced to a company like Parking Eye. If you don't register your car, they'll issue you with a "Parking Charge Notice", which is essentially an invoice for parking on private land. Why can't you appeal it just because Hertz added an Admin Fee?
I'm assuming here that:
(a) Offsite parking was included as a part of your hotel booking, and
(b) Hertz have charged the fine + admin fee to your credit card without your authority
If so, and if you have, or can obtain, the suitable documentary evidence to support point (a) above, then I would be initiating a charge back on your credit card as well as writing to the hotel to tell them that their error has cost you money (and saved them money) and that you want them to refund you promptly.
Tell me about it - it's called the 'ageing process!!!'
Also known as oxidation.Maturation! Like a fine wine.
Waiting for anyone from UK to reply....I'd be mighty cross with the Hotel in your scenario @jastel. Can they make amends for their error?
Which bank was that? Sounds like the gods weren't with you on this trip. When I got back I noticed that with no email or contact the money was back in my account.
I was feeling happy then this fine came....
Unfortunately, it's not their error. Unless they didn't have signs on the counter reminding to register the number plate and/or the person checking you in didn't ask if you needed to?I'd be mighty cross with the Hotel in your scenario @jastel. Can they make amends for their error?
Usually that only works if it hasn't been paid, hopefully the parking company does the right thing and works out a way to give you back the money! Otherwise it'll be a refund to Hertz, then they'll whack on an admin fee to get it back to you.......Westpac Black Card
As the hotel was in Liquidation, all payments from x date were recalled by Liquidators...standard thing...but they were the ones that told me to do a credit card chargeback in the first place.
Some good news...just now received reply from Hotel saying they will cancel the Parking Fine...now to see what happens next.
