Trying the Gladstones this evening. Still young but fabulous wine and money well spent.I chose the Gladstones based on MR and 2020 being a good vintage AFAIK.
I had a Gladstones vertical 2001, 2002, 2003 (+/- 1 year) earlier this year. They were very nice, obviously a different kettle of fish to a young 2020.
Will post thoughts once received.
EDIT: Juniper is great.
My Petaluma Evans has traveled to WA from SA instead of TassieTrying the Gladstones this evening. Still young but fabulous wine and money well spent.
PS: Earlier in the week I regretted not getting the Petaluma Evans for $30pB as well. I emailed the nice people at CellarOne if a "split" purchase qualifies for the free Katnook 6er. It did. Only slightly unfortunate, the Evans was sold out at that stage and they put me on the unlabelled Evans. Great customer service in my books.
It's back available (assuming youre referring to the 2018)PS: Earlier in the week I regretted not getting the Petaluma Evans for $30pB as well.
My magnum of Evans went from SA to Hobart to Melb then back here to SA...My Petaluma Evans has traveled to WA from SA instead of TassiePERfect…..
Thanks for this. I had a $20 anniversary voucher, bought it down to $160. Separately bought the Bay of Fires vertical and the code worked again so got them for $85.It's back available (assuming youre referring to the 2018)
yep. probs a bit higher by now, haven’t looked.Grays?
The Righteous FG I received was a 2017.BWS Kingston in Canberra has WB Black Label 2021 ($65) and Teusner Righteous FG Shiraz 2018 ($76) on clearance. Sweeten the deal with $30 off $200 spend, 10% off for 6 bottles, and Shopback 27% cashback ($25 cap) for the next couple of hours.
I also purchased Teusner FG - picked up from Randwick and Potts Point. Both handed me 2021. Incidentally I still have 2017 Teusner FG and the packaging is very different. 2017 feels like a super premium wine, 2021 is just an ordinary bottle. The Righteous FG I received was a 2017.
Even though it does say "Vintage is not guaranteed and may vary store to store or when delivered", I'm spewing a little. Thought I bought one of the best recent vintages and got a decidedly average one.![]()
I'm delighted to read that @olympicwiz. I was going by the langtons vintage chart that was posted here not long ago. 10/10 for Barossa in 2018, 7/10 for 2017. Expectations now raised accordingly.I also purchased Teusner FG - picked up from Randwick and Potts Point. Both handed me 2021. We tried 2017 and it is just superb. Velvet in a glass. We all were in awe.
Can't wait to try 2021 but might leave it for a year or so.
PS 2021 price worked out sub $60 a bottle using $30 off $200 offer, 5% discount on Wish cards and Cashback that tracked.
Well, in my case - I bought a six pack (one store only had 5 so I bought $4 cooking wine to bring it down) - so the CB was capped at $25. I used TopCashBack (DMed me for an invite and a bonus $$$ to sign on) and experimented with Wish Cards as the discount was about $15 - so I was only risking to miss out on $10. Lo and behold it tracked on TopCashBack and it was 5.6% no cap. So worked out well.I'm delighted to read that @olympicwiz. Bang on about the bottle too. It looks and feels like a very substantial wine when holding it. The hole thingy at the bottom is boss too.
It ended up being very cheap for me too. 1 x FG, 1 x WB Black, 1 x carton of beer = $205. Work pays for the beer ($65), less $30, less $25 cashback, so $85 for the wine. It's also a bit of a lark because I leave some of the beer at home for WFH days.
Any issue with CB paying out with the wish card used? I thought they didn't pay if GC was payment method (at all, not just BWS). Never been game to test it. I haven't bought a wish card in a while as don't spend much in the group outside woollies and I'm still going through woollies cards from the many recent Special deals.
It's not as good as the 18, I have two boys, 2018 and 2022. The 18 is ethereal, the 22 is good.Has anyone tried the 2022 MossWood best red? I saw a 98 rating but would like to know if it is as good as their 2018.
