Perhaps just coincidence but all the paper towel dispensers were empty in the MEL QP when I was there on Tuesday and again must now in the BNE J lounge the paper towel dispensers were conspicuously empty.

Coincidence or enhancement?

All of our work dispensers around the country had them removed last year and replaced with air dryers and It does seem that many businesses are doing similar so wouldn’t be surprised if QF has made that decision

Just caught this thread.

Last few trips to SIN F, I am not sure the bog roll was even 2 ply.

Honestly? QF - DO BETTER!!!

I eat very well in that lounge. I expect the second half of that trade to be just as comfy.

Perhaps lay off the squid if you’re needing the facilities within the same visit.

Annoying if you have kids because most of them hate the noise from the dryers, and would rather leave the bathroom with drillinug wet hands.

I noticed this and hoped I was simply unlucky. The time prior to that the nice thick/slightly quilted hand towels had been removed in favour of standard TORK multi fold ones (on the side). Wiping your hands on your dress is hardly a premium experience

I noticed no towels in March.

Sad because I do not like to directly touch the door handles on the way out of the lavatory.

There’s a reason American Airlines lounges have foot pads to pull the doors open.

Oh I also noticed new foot door opener hook contraptions on the bottoms of the doors to the gents this week. I only just put 2 and 2 together that it might relate to the removal of the nice quilted hand towels as a nod to the seeming increase in germ phobia in society. (Gruen has done a few great episodes on how it’s marketing driven, not science…)

Though the contraptions look to me like an OHS accident waiting to happen! I’d much rather take my chances with a door handle (I’ve managed to stay alive for more than a few decades’ worth of door handle touching) than tripping while trying to manoeuvre an inward opening door with my foot while potentially carrying hand luggage and someone rushing in from the other direction…horses for courses I suppose!!

Definitely foot pads on the "old loos main entry/exit door" behind the wall of the "new expanded part" of SYD biz lounge. Also installed in at least one CBR terminal general amenities - make of that what you will

nah.. trust me... the foot pad is super easy to operate after you try it once!
