Premium Economy to LAX from BNE

I flew on QF15 last in October in Premium Ecomy, but actually sat in Skybed, with premium economy service for food, etc.
The 747 was the same 2-class style I'd flown BNE-LAX-BNE in the last few years, just with two rows of business being used a Premium Economy.

I'd search the dates you want to fly and see if Qantas is offering PE seats for sale. They may be the standard PE seats or they may be business seats like I and many other AFFers have scored.

There was some mention of this in another thread http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/community/open-discussion/when-does-brisbane-get-a380-20340-4.html

According to NM

The thoughts were that up to this date the PE BNE/LAX is in J seats. After that date the PE is going via SYD only.

I booked QF16 for Jan in N on a 4-class 744 and am pre-allocated a skybed seat. May not be worthwhile paying for PE at the moment!

What date? One of us can tell you the setup on that particular flight...

Can anyone advise me if any Qantas flights from Brisbane to LAX have been upgraded to include Premium Economy seats?
Welcome to AFF.

While Qantas is selling Premium Economy fares on this route for a short time, they do not have any aircraft configure with 3 class cabins (Business, PE and Economy). So they either operate a regular 2-class aircraft, selling the rear lower deck business class cabin as premium economy, hence business class seats, or they operate a 4-class aircraft selling the first and business class cabins as business class and premium economy in the PE cabin.

And I can confirm QF16 out of Lax on Tuesday had a PE cabin.

I last flew BNE-LAX-BNE last month on QF PE and was upgraded outbound, but both outbound and inbound flights were utilising the back 2 rows of J class as PE.

I believe some days they had a PE configured aircraft but not all, so its worth checking.

I believe from memory (but dont quote me) that if you bring up a seat map and its 29 & 30 that you'll be in a skybed.

4 class birds will be running on that route from Xmas .

QF15 BNE-LAX on 29 Sept had Y+ in J seats - rows 23 & 24.
Only 4 pax booked in the cabin - pre-takeoff, two pax were brought up by an FA, and two more pax were brought into the cabin before breakfast. A final pax was brought up before landing, so I guess he had to get somewhere quickly. I think even in Y there was a fairly light load.

I'm on QF16 this Friday, and at the moment on QF have what looks like a J seat (rows 23 & 24), but I haven't been able to see the seat map on CMT for this flight for weeks. I'm not sure which system to trust?? It'll be interesting to see if QF16 on Friday is proper Y+ or J seats - of course, I'm hoping for the latter!! :D

I am doing Qf15/16 next week and on both flights it is showing as 2/3/2 seat map and I am booked into row 24 E/F with Mrs F.
I got these seats during a sale and have got 2 return seats for under $6k.
This is a bargain, as I have sat in these seats before when flying J and paid $9k for one seat.
There is a good chance that I will be using this again this year if another sale pops up.... Especially as the Aus $ hover near parity with US $.
The only thing I am waiting on is to be moved to 23A/B as these are bassinet seats and even as a Aa plat they won't pop me in there till the morning of the flight.
