OzForex are today offering me 0.5679 to convert $A to £ (Xe's mid market rate is 0.57368)

That is amazing. How high can the $A climb I wonder?

Maybe the question is how low can the pound fall?

Well I decided to try to buy USD an EURO in 3 goes so I am splitting the purchases into thirds starting yesterday.
That should propel the currency higher!
My next proposed buy is 5 cents ahead for the USD and half that for the Euro.
The last time I sold back the Euro at .52 it only took 2 days to drop to .48 but no one is in trouble taking a profit from .63.
Anyway this is my PLAN A.

I don't want to jinx myself, but everytime I've been overseas lately the dollar seems to have done well ... e.g. 105 yen to the dollar when I went to Japan, and quite a good rate on the euro now also

Well it is now on the record and we all know who to blame when the Aussie tanks

Let's hope this all holds till Dec when I'm booked to travel to London and Germany for some big time shopping. Might even be able to afford that lovely Jitrois snake skin jacket I've been drooling over. :D Sanderson Hotel charged my card a few days ago when we hit GBP1:AUD1.7, saving heaps over when I booked it at GBP1:AUD1.9.

Well us Aussies in the office here in Singapore (all being paid in SGD) are having a collective mourning and email swearing session after seeing the latest suggestions that the Australian dollar could soon be worth $US1.10.

I guess, those like us, exporters and farmers are all probably equally :( or  at the uninterrupted rise in the AUD.

And us, as importers; are reasonably happy. C'est la vie

Yep as an imported paying for about $200k of stock at about 0.90 is very nice when earlier this year it was around 0.65

You seem to talk $ figures a lot, how much you spend, the cars you drive, etc. is it really needed, is there someone you're trying to impress

No different to people asking about what car to buy, their trip reports in J/F etc etc. Deal with it

Well after a fall, things are climbing again:

According to XE:

$A1 = $US0.91245
$A1 = £0.55460
$A1 = €0.60801

I need to move some money from Australia to the UK in the next few weeks, so trying to judge the best time!

You may have just missed the boat, most of my transactions over the past month went through at 62 euro to the dollar!
