Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has had experiences with the JAL J class services within Japan and how they earn status credits. The airline table says:

J (Domestic) Discount Economy Plus Premium Surcharge

J (Domestic) Economy Plus Premium Surcharge

Are these the J classes that the JAL planes offer? They say Economy so would the SC's just be economy?

Thanks!

On QF and CX FFP, they come across as "Y". Got it change once to J by sending them the boarding pass, since it show "J", but didn't care too much after tha, since it was only a few extra miles.
Cheers,

It's more the SC that people are after, rather than the miles.

as you described they are economy + seats. As I understand it, Jclass seating is not JAL 'business class', just a better seat - and, as above, are only 1,000jpy extra upon checkin.

Just flew JAL First ITM-HND on a Discount Fare (Advance purchase) booked directly on the JAL website, upgraded to First for Y8,000.
Got First SCs, but no Cabin Bonus

xx OCT 09 JL xx_ FIRST xxOCT09 OSAKA/TOKYO 251 - - 251 60

According to the T&Cs the Cabin Bonus is only paid on Full Economy fares that are upgraded to J (10%) and F (50%).

Would expect the same discounted ticket with a J Class upgrade would have received 151 base points (ie 60%) and 40 SCs.
