Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

did you miss my post three above yours on the same day? and the one before that last week?
Seems I did miss them, but that’s sort of what I was referring to….some minor discounting but nothing exceptional and even the secret selections have dried up. The comment about the pricing guy was referring to the good old days of the fantastic deals like a Wolf Blass Black Label and five Greys for $99. ;-)

besides chardonnay and pinot noir, ending 2pm AEST:

ok, maybe there were a couple😛 Interesting that the ones you posted the other day were all European.
that's where the value is atm

yes the secret selections were good, especially the Bordeaux, but you'd probably have a hard time finding a cheaper/better value nebbiolo than the BelColle, and that includes the Bosio Barolo that you bought

that was a price error iirc - what wasn't were the $10 clearance wines :)

I just got delivery and vintage below, 2017 isn't a great vintage but value is still pretty amazing.

I suspect you'd need the drink Dolcetto in the next 6 months

And one for the volume players! $5.5 delivered is pretty sharp drinking.

The Gris looks the best bet!

Sounds like: DAWSON & JAMES Chardonnay, Derwent Valley 2017
Quite tempted, but over budget for me at the moment.

That money will buy a pretty exceptional six-pack. Wouldnt be recommending it Cpt.

you can only buy it at RRP from our favourite retailer, Dan Murphy's,
Good luck. I've tried several times earlier today to purchase. I get either not available or vintage cannot be guaranteed. Not in store in any DM's near me so I can't check for myself.

UPDATE: Further research suggests that you actually can't buy this until AFTER June 29 (The International Wine Challenge (IWC) has named a South Australian Riddoch 'The Pastoralist' Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, the best in the world.).

My kids took me out for lunch at Meletos in the Yarra Valley last saturday and we enjoyed a Toolangi Pinot 2022. At Dan Murphys right now, its on member sale at $27. I absolutely loved it and bought 5 more yesterday. Drink in price was $70 but it is a stunning wine. Beautiful fruit, great mouthfeel, a bit of complexity, a bit of oak there. More austere than many I have had recently. Do yourself a favour as I think at that price it would compare very favourable to more expensive morsels.

I drank a lot of Toolangi wine back in the wineboxwarehouse days, usually under $10 per bottle. But I Just checked and that was 2008. First VM purchase was in 2014, time flies!
