Indigo to launch loyalty program

I think it makes sense for 6E to start having a loyalty program … especially with their codeshare arrangement with QF (and EK/QR, I think?) … for QF FF there is no recognition or benefits when flying 6E domestically within India or even when flying SIN-MAA sectors … so this loyalty program might bring something to the table … acknowledge that 6E is not OW.

In my travels, I also got the feeling/impression that 6E doesn’t seem to worry too much about customer loyalty (loyalty may not be the right word). And I chalk this up to them not having a loyalty program and hence don’t understand/appreciate what comes with having one …

With the amount of people now embracing air travel within India, it is about time the loyalty programs are created … in India, 10 years (even 5 years) in the past, not many people flew domestically … taking a flight was considered an expensive affair, only available to this affluent enough to afford it and/or if work paid for it … now airfares are cheap, more planes and more people are getting used to the idea of flying for leisure.

I used to a Gold with the now defunct Jet Airways (9W) that had a solid FFP, IMO. The article states that 6E have hired a FFP veteran, I hope this person is from 9W.
