JohnK,

I read through the T&C and they are if you happen to fly QF.

But not Jetstar, or Virgin Blue (altho, I assume Velocity points would acrue!)

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of this. $300 pp is enough to book a return flight somewhere on a lot of days - especially if you know you want an escape more than a few days out. I also question the value of the 'suprise pack'. Staying overnight may provide a bit more value out of the bookings ($395pp).

The destinations are limited to certain destinations - none that I particularly would rate as a $300 return journey from Brisbane. Yes, I know some of them are often >$300 return on certain days, but do you really think you'd get a >$300 return flight???? :)

Yes Bill but no guarantee that I will end up on QF! Although I love the concept of mystery flights I do not want to spend $295 and end up on JQ.

Unless of course it was Starclass with lots of SCs. ;)

Isn't every flight you take potentially a bit of a mystery flight?

Sometimes it's a big mystery...

I do recall one of my friends flying with Ansett on a mystery flight and getting asked when he booked it where he'd like to go! At which point they told him that while it was technically a mystery, if there were seats going to where he wanted, there wasn't any reason he couldn't have them.

But I think back then a mystery flight was something like $100. For $300, I'd much rather pick where I wanted to go, I think for that destination list you'd usually be able to find a cheap seat for around that price, maybe even a bit less if a sale was on.

I remember when you could do mystery flights on Eastwest Fokker F27's for $15.. We ended up at Hobat one day, Glenn Inness and Inverell another..

I'm a taker - I was given the two day package as a gift (voucher). I ended up at a great 4* hotel, transport + breakfast included -great value!
The phone number you posted has changed - it's now (02) 94401455

Ex-Sydney what are the odds of Dubbo, Canberra or Moree?

Realistically, the $$ value on the daytrip isn't going to be anywhere near $300, more likely $220 as it's just an agency marketing the same product slightly differently and they'd be allowing for a healthy surcharge on top of what are minimal/nil commission domestic flights.

I think it's a waste of money personally, okay for a gift for someone who doesnt fly often, but for my thinking, i'd rather take my $295 and select my own destination, which from BNE could take me to most cities aside from PER.

Good on them for using some initiative to cash in on the memory of those of us who have flown mystery flights in the past, hope it's a success for them.

It would get you over to PER, and 200 miles back :D
